We've hardly sold anyone for decent money in the last ten years and have forked out quite a lot at different times. You can easily check the figures if you Google our club's transfer dealings over that period. I have no reason to doubt that the figures quoted are basically correct..

It’s quite incredible that we’ve outspent Real Madrid and Bayern over ac10 year period. The only major sale has been AWB to Man U

As another poster has just mentioned he only notable sale bringing in income was AWB -we had a number of years where we were bringing in seasoned players that when we had finished with them had no resale value so in this particular list we were always going to be in a negative standing, additionally, this list is drawn up to reflect a 10 year period which in itself is all well & good , same list with a different period may include or exclude specific big sum deals to dramatically change the pecking order -

Also dont forget as Lanzo pointed out a few days ago - Our squad today is worth considerably more than its ever been -I think Lanzo posted a rough guideline of about £580 million, even if you disagree & think its worth nearer £500 million that means that todays squad is worth a whole lot more than we have lost in transfer dealings over the last 10 years.

I'm surprised at how low Everton are and Brighton not even in the mix.

I assume the figures are correct.

I just had a look on the Everton website, in recent years they sold Richarlison (£58M) Gordon (£45M) Digne (£30M) Moise Keane (£30M) & Iwobi (£27M) so that will have balanced out some of what they spent.

Just scrolled further down on the Everton page -they also sold Rom Lukaku (£86M) & John Stones (£56M) within the 10 year period the list refers to.

Interesting so they are not as bad as transfers as I thought.

It really does highlight 2 things:

Parish and co have spent

Our legacy transfer strategy (buying end of life players) was terrible. And will be the reason we have a pretty paper thin squad now

They've only spent money the club has generated from being in the Premier league.

Brings into focus all those continual calls for ambition and spending.

What was it that Thatcher said about money and socialism....something like that.

Yep, but I don't know if people are realistically expecting them to just throw money.

It would jsut be nice to not always be one of the lowest spending teams. Oh, and have a right back
