It was sad to hear the news that Malcolm Allison died today a great Palace manager who brought a smile to the face of many of us and,in his own way, left his mark on the club.
He had his ups and downs but there was never a dull moment with Big Mal.
During his time here we became the Red & Blue Eagles and much more.
What Malcom Allison moment do you treasure?

........................Then along came Johnny Byrne! and the rest, as they say, is history.....................

Actually my fave moment was not when he was manager - it was when he was shuffled out to pass comment on us during the cup semi with Liverpool at Half Time

Big Mal actually gave us a chance and said we looked stronger than them depsite being 0-1 down.

After Bob 'Primrose' Wilson and Baldy Wilkins had taken the piss out of Mals assessment we then preceded to look stronger, take the game by the scruff and beat them

Big Mal 1 W ankers 0

My dad had a thing for Fiona Richmond big time and he has passed that down to me, its the only Sash family tradition - knock one out to the 1970's p*** queen...

I have added my proper best Big Mal memory now

That's right,I think he said something like - with the young Palace players nervous energy can put some pressure on them in the penalty box they could turn it round.
Then Wilkins started to say I can't see that happening....as Pemberton was steaming down the line to put it the cross that led to us equalising.
That shut him up!

Rodney Marsh used to tell a great story about Big Mal when BM was manager of Palace.

Results weren't going well and BM put it down to the fact that the black players in the team wouldn't pass to the white players and vice versa.

So before leaving for an away game, he decided to sort it out once and for all. He gathered all the players into a dressing room and told them it had to stop...and that there was no black and white in his team, as far as he was concerned they were all blue.

Having got that off his chest he told them to get onto the team coach - '' dark blues at the back, light blues at the front '' !

Hahaha

My memory is the FA Cup semifinal at Stamford Bridge in 1976 when he came out to greet us with his fedora on and we all had ours on.... biggest cheer for a manager I've ever heard.

The guy was a legend.
