I'm Palace Til I Die

I had to leave the ground to get in the queue for the 68 Bus before the result of a game which decided whether we would go up after beating Oldham ( I think 3-1?)......can anyone remember what result we were waiting for?
I heard a loud cheer from those still inside the ground....and assumed we had gone up!
I decided then and there to follow the Palace permanently from that day.....while my twin brother who was with me and my dad......decided to go with Chelski.

Palace had to beat Oldham on the last day to win the league. In fact, had we won any of our last 7 games, we'd have won the league. But in typical Palace fashion, we couldn't do that and lost 1-3 to Oldham, so Coventry had to beat Colchester, which they did 1-0, and they were champions on goal average.

I guess that was the result we were all waiting for but I don't remember that, I remember being carried onto the pitch and standing on the half-way line looking up into the main stand with thousands of others.

Zaha, Williams, Murray, Ambrose, Scannell.
