One of the wonderful aspects of music streaming sites, is that you can enjoy back catalogues of artists.

I have been listening to Pink Floyd lately. Whilst respecting them as artists, I had never delved deep into their catalogue and have to say that some of the '70s albums contain some of the most wonderfully constructed rock music I have ever heard.

Wish you were here is the pinnacle for me. It's a wonderfully layered album.

What are others opinions of the Floyd?

Have to say that later gem of Division Bell showed that they had the magic still.

I can relate in that what I've heard I've loved but have never delved deeper. I really ought to.

I still love Dark Side of the Moon - reminds me of my yoot, and I think it's fair to say it's a Classic.

Wish You Were Here ....love the title track in particular. I saw PF at Wembley in '74 and they played a number of tracks from that album before it had been released.

Pretentious old bollocks but only my opinion. I was ripping it up with punk when this was out.

I used to think this. I used to think that PF produced a bunch of w*** for hippie t***s. One of my guiding principles is from Ten Pole Tudor - never trust a hippie.

However, after listening to them recently, they are fantastic musicians. Some of their less celebrated albums are decent - I am listening to The Final Cut at the moment. Really enjoying it.

It's a shame Dave Gilmour doesn't want to play the old stuff.

Great thing about Floyd is every Album is unique and has it's own identity, not to mention the iconic album covers. Atom heart Mother is totally different to, say, the wall.

Anything Post Roger Waters is crap, Guilmore should have just become a decent solo artist and left it
