If a bunch of know it alls prone to being indoctrinated by off the wall ideas then they might claim “independent thought” but claim is all it is and their consensus is worthless. If a bunch of qualified experts in the respective field form a consensus you can be confident that although every opinion won’t be independent of all the others it will be of any conspiracy theories. Only those outside the consensus may be influenced by them.

I claim my fiver, you got trump in this thread ! He is such an insidious influence in so many areas that it’s inevitable that he will come up. Future generations will look back at these years and wonder if the west had a collective meltdown of reason. That said Trump is a symptom of our problems. Not the cause.

Why do you think you are so correct. Trump and the right in general have certainly improved many lives worldwide. If that saddens you then you really need to re evaluate your moral compass as it’s skewed a little. Maybe it’s a captain jack sparrow one which only you can actually navigate with.

No one argues that when new information emerges opinions change, but there will be a consensus among the expert opinion about it. Not just some outliers pushing their own ideas. Many of whom, although obviously not all, have agendas unrelated to the subject.

I don't see any lives that the right has improved and, although Trump isn't really a representative of the right, being just Trump, nor has he. That they might think he has improved them, that doesn't make it so.
