Wharton was good but his passing in critical attacking situations needs to improve. Wharton was excellent again today. He made the pass that led to JP's goal.

I agree with everyone that Eze didn't look sharp today, but he would have had a goal if Ayew had passed it (as he did last week) rather than rattle the crossbar yet again. And on Tuesday Eze would have earned the goal (on a similar sequence) if only Mateta hadn't been offside by the width of a toenail sliver. So, Eze has lost two goals in a week because of his teammates, and both times he ran hard to threaten the opposition.

I think Jordan took the shot on the basis that he was close in the last game at home from a similar position & Adam (about 10 minutes earlier) whilst in a similar position passed left Originally posted by CT Charlie

The manager keeps playing same people and system it's costing us. Something else is wrong as well why second half we keep conceding. Sorry, I’m not in the league. The team i support is. Under another manager we get slaughtered, under yet another manager we win. What was the point of that comment? We have who we have. Yes we do. History has indeed been twisted. Man City would have won all these titles and trophies on our budget. In the same way that Pep could win the league with our current team. What planet are you on. The point I made was not about money it was about heritage. Money can’t buy that. It needs time. He keeps playing the same players because that’s all we’ve got. We don’t have £500 million plus worth of players sitting on the bench. The something else that is wrong is that our players are knackered by the 2nd half. Past regime didn’t put enough emphasis on fitness. City move teams side to side all day long. It takes a huge amount of effort and energy to try and stop that. Better teams than Palace have failed to do it.

Someone must be working with him on his game , dont know how he got down so quick to save that shot it was a dead cert goal , i dont think he would have saved it on his last spell in goal. Actually seeing it back on TV last night didn’t do it justice I thought, it seemed a lot more spectacular from my view directly behind. Yet the one where Haaland was clean through looked better on TV than what I thought at the time. All in all though, despite letting in four goals he did a good job keeping the score down

It’s going to be tight and we need 3 to 6 more points to keep us up. There’s no guarantees in this league and all we need is a sending off in one of those games we might expect to get points in and that throws our hopes out the window. Andersen has been arguing with the ref in the last few matches and needs to watch himself. Yes, we should stay up but I’m not as confident as some about that.

He's been arguing because Ward, as Captain, doesn't.

There's a lot of talk about Eze not fitting the system but his problems yesterday were nothing to do with the system. He had plenty of the ball out wide and centrally he was just too slow to move the ball on and City quickly crowded him out. He has always struggled against the big teams as they know that the best way to stop us is to stop him. Since his injury he just seems off the pace, whether that's mentally or physically I don't know but the idea that people want to get rid of him is insane. It was similar with Wilf in the past, he had a few bad games and everyone was saying we should sell him. Players go in and out of form, with very few enjoying constant success. I remember a few months back Liverpool fans saying they should drop Salah as he had a poor run of form! Give it a few games and people will probably be calling Eze our saviour and saying don't sell him for £100 million. Also, as an aside, having Olise back will be huge as those two seem to operate on a telepathic level. Ayew for all his hard work is often a bit slower to make decisions.

An unsurprising defeat but at least we had a go at them rather than the passive acceptance that we have seen at Selhurst in recent seasons. Munoz played Grealish well for the first half, but couldn't do the same job second half and the goals flowed. I thought Wharton looked comfortable against top opposition. Olise's appearance gives us hope if he can stay fit for the rest of the season. Henderson could do nothing about the goals conceded and made two excellent saves. Eze's substitution was I think a clear message to him that he has to step up - forget about not fitting into Glasner's style, he needs to start doing the basics well and he's not even doing that. It's starting to get real now. Palace are increasingly becoming reliant on other clubs results because they can't find a way to win a game. The run in offers little comfort either.

At present we of course do not know what the situation will be regarding possible points deductions for both Everton and Nottm Forest and any such action could of course have a significant bearing on the league places. We could well survive purely down to teams being docked points! There are those who are considering the possibility that Glasner might not be in charge should we plummet through that relegation trapdoor, indeed some have opined that he might not be the right person to lead the club in the Championship. Watching the highlights on MOTD Andersen seemed to have a shocker. His header for the second goal was poor, sending it back into the danger zone. Got skinned for another. His only saving grace was a fortuitous block when he was lying down prostrate on the floor. Perhaps he wants out at the end of the season ? I suspect we will need to sell a couple of players and he might be one. Also the highlights showed Ayew's lack of composure with his effort, although he wasn't far off. Let's hope this doesn't get worse over the remainder of the season. Still very much in our hands. COYP !!
