The crux of it is, is that both keepers are average to below average keepers PL standard. The difference is that one is a legend, the other isn't. WH needed to be taken out of the firing line though but JS is no upgrade. We have fantastic reserve keepers,but no stand out number 1.

But he is costing us more points than Hennessey did.

Can't blame Hennessey for any points lost as up until Roy had some influence over the team as we were rubbish.
Now we are getting closer games as we are looking like a team we need vital stops at crucial times and clean sheets.

Michael , I am not sure Jules is at fault for every goal but it has to be debated as the people that blame Hennessey are sure he is(See the WH thread), so in the name of fairness and balance Jules has to be scrutinised in the same light.

I'm in the Jules camp, but I have this novel approach in which I only blame a person if they make a mistake. Keeper or player. Strange concept I know, but there's more than enough scapegoating on here and the actual hate of our own players is worrying, all so they can defend someone they like.

If you want to compare stats, Speroni has now had 10 shots to save in 3 games and let in 4 of them - a save rate of 60%. WH had 45 shots to save in 7 games and let in 17 of them - a save rate of 62%. So WH actually has the better stats, although the team are doing better as a whole now (more likely because the management are sorting out the defence, and we have Zaha back, and we are not away at Man U and Man C in successive weeks).

The stats prove otherwise. Speroni is costing us points - we should have won yesterday.
