I agree with you; however, I sense that DF will be incredibly hard to replace as his influence stems to every corner of CPFC - recruitment, contracts, managerial appointments etc. He also seems to have a very good and trusted relationship with the owners who respect his judgement and track record. Will be a real shame if he goes and very big boots to fill.

Manchester to Newcastle remains a distance of nearly 150 miles, so in the grand scheme of things, a move to Newcastle will not fully resolve this issue.

Anyone know what length of contract he is on? Presumably we could do a Newcastle and put him on gardening leave like they have with Ashworth. Of course, the latter might be getting cold feet about joining United now and decide he would rather join Palace
