The problem with this deal is do we put a relegation clause (if the worst happens). Does benteke receive a pay rise if we were to get into europe? Agent fee? Contract length? Does benteke receive sign on fee ? Is player waiting for other clubs to show interest? This is why this deal will drag on unfortunately Negotiations take time, its a lot of money involved. Wouldn't you want all bases covered.

Benteke is a class act and as has rightly been pointed out still scored goals under a manager who didn't sign him and clearly didn't fancy him at all in a team who play the opposite style to his strengths. A bad season happens for many circumstances besides the fact of the quality of the player - he'd be worth every single penny imo.
