Just a thought, does the team Doctor normally go on these foreign friendly tours? If he does who then conducts/oversees the medicals for potential players, or will he qualify for a bumper set of frequent flyer points?

I think that a lot of the comments on here have some form of validity. Benteke made a mistake when he went to Liverpool, wrong club, wrong type of football but he is on good wages so he will want to move to the right club. Liverpool want his wages off the books, and want as much as the fee back as possible. We are the right sort of club because we want a target man, however can we or will we pay his current wages. I winder if the haggling is about a buy out clause if we are relegated or a big club comes in

Either Settle and sign pdq, or move on to Babacar and Vasquez

i cant see a downside to gettint bentekkers...he is 25 so has a resale value, and even scored 1/3 at liverpool and a fair few of them were from the bench. the only issue i have is that wickham could be awesome with a whole season in the 1st team and im not sure pound for pound bentekkers is worth 5 times & double the wages wickham is on. premier league headf***

The problem with this deal is do we put a relegation clause (if the worst happens). Does benteke receive a pay rise if we were to get into europe? Agent fee? Contract length? Does benteke receive sign on fee ? Is player waiting for other clubs to show interest? This is why this deal will drag on unfortunately
