He will probably sign on a similar 130k a week over 3/4 years take 2 months to get fit, then get injured in training and miss the next 3 months, while everybody says why did we do that.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

This seems a likelihood. Also when he was out last season, nearing the end of Vieira's reign, we played well and got results in a difficult run of games. When Zaha returned we lost.
The team had adapted to playing without him and players such as Eze and Olise stepped up to the plate. Ayew seemed reinvigorated on the left.
To give Zaha some leeway, unfortunately in the past our style of play was one-dimensional, basically defend and try and release Zaha on the break. This was particularly evident during the latter stages of Hodgson's first stint as manager. The opposition figured that to stop Palace all you have to do was stop Zaha, fortunately these days we have more options and variety to our play.
Zaha needs to realise that he is a a part of a team and doesn't have to do it all himself.

We would never be so bold as to rub a big fist of Epson salts into the wounds and say " i told you so "

Is Zaha treating the club with contempt, OR, is that just your opinion?

Love Wilf but don’t think this is a good look for us. We should have moved on imo. Possibly the oIlise injury has complicated things for the club.

I believe Wilf is changing/changed his representatives which has possibly delayed things but he clearly hasn’t got the interest from clubs he was hoping for. Not to say he won’t get them. We’re in danger of being the jilted lover and then taking him back.

Good analogy.

Curiosity is an obvious emotion. We all want to know the outcome here.
However, as we stand today, Wilf is not a Palace player anymore. OK we are helping him return to some sort of fitness but he is no longer under contract and therefore I assume not being paid.

I doubt anyone will sign him until he is fit to play and even then there will be obvious doubts based on his recent injuries as he won't have played a competitive game. We will no doubt be in the best position by far to analyse the situation, and I daresay we will make him an offer of sorts once we know the position.
There is clearly no mad rush from any other club for him or he wouldn't be at our training ground. We can ignore ALL the clickbait bulls***.

Maybe we will help him back to full match fitness by taking him on a game by game contract over say two years. If not, then once pain free but not match fit, what else is there for him to do? No wonder Wilf showed so much anguish on the touchline of the Arthur when his hamstring re occurred (assuming that's what it was)

With his recent track record I doubt anyone will risk anything better than us until they can see him fully restored.
Don't forget, we are the masters of contracting injured players.
I just really hope for his sake and possibly ours he makes a 100% recovery.

If he had re-signed straight away, I'm pretty sure most fans would have been very happy. I would have thought the continuity great and useful.
If he re-signs now, I'm not so sure everyone will be happy. It has that look of last resort about it.
