At least we’ve finally gone an end to this saga and we can hopefully move on. I’m disappointed for Wilf he didn’t get a top side (if he had to leave us). Upside is we probably all knew throwing £200k at Wilf on the reported 4 year deal probably doesn’t sit well. None the less he’s the best I’ve ever seen in the shirt. Legend

Now let’s throw some of that bag at Eze end Olise on longer terms, get a Wilf replacement and striker. If we are being greedy a lb + rb

Champions league football, domestic silverware, better climate....what's not to love from wilfs perspective?

All that over another 4 years mid table fighting relegation kicked out of the cups and being fouled constantly.

I know what I would rather. Realistically he will do two years in turkey then get homesick and come back to us.

He will feel homesick much more quickly if he criticises a referee there, gets a yellow for it, then applauds, gets red and realises who the anger of tens of thousands of fans is directed at. Or if he misses just one penalty there. Anyway, if it's true, good luck to him and thanks for all he has done for the club.

Not really, look at the players psg can attract and their league is worse than the Dutch and Portuguese. Lazio must offer terrible wages as you wouldn't pick the Turkish league over the Italian. I'd personally rather stay in the prem but if your heart is set on Europe, what difference does it make if you play in the Turkish, Dutch, Portuguese or French league, they're all as bad as each other.

IF, this transfer is true, His champions league dream may not happen this coming season, Galatasaray have to play Zalgiris in a 2 legged qualifier 1st & he wont be registered in time for that as it is on Tuesday.

What i don't understand is WHY? Who is negotiating for him, it's not his agent, he is about to ditch them on the 31st or 29th of July, his new agent can't do anything until after then.

Why would he uproot his young family to move there(i wouldn't go there on hols)? As Graeme Souness found out long time ago, how erm 'partisan' it can be. Their reported deal of £8m, which equates to roughly(for the pedants among us), £153k per week, which to be fair is not that far above what we were paying him anyway.

Baffling.

I feel the same. Doesn't seem quite right.

TBF Eagleman, and to be polite as possible, I don’t always put a lot of stock in the truth of stories coming out of Turkey. BBC and Ornstein reporting it is interesting though.

Quite frankly I don’t actually feel sore about it which is telling. If I wanted to be blunt I’d say he hasn’t taken anyone on in a couple of years, seems to have lost a lot of pace, doesn’t particularly want to be with us and we could do without the sideshow, I’m a bit sick of it if I weren’t already.

My main fear still is replacing him more so than losing him now.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

That is the question WHY? Just playing in a part of the Champions league means very little in reality if you rarely progress in it. Why, would he take £8 mill if he could have £10 mill in his home town?
Have Palace ever offered him £10 mill? Got to be honest I doubted it . Is it possible the problem is what he sees as a lack of ambition by Palace?
Galatasary really think they have him, if so only Wilf knows WHY.

You don't have to be polite with me Nick, ive had plenty of grief off this site over the years incl an ex mod, anyway enough of that.

I agree with you(especially your last line), my post wasn't so much about his playing prowess, more to do with the fact i find it totally baffling as to WHY

My ‘politeness’ was trying not to get cancelled for anything remotely controversial in airing my views on ‘news’ from Turkey Eagleman!

Saying ‘I don’t put too much stock’ in their truth was the full extent of my politeness capabilities!!! Fully aligned with your original post and it’s sentiment!

Gotcha, no probs.

Just been told that it was Wilf's brother Herve that was doing the negotiating. How true that is & whether that is legal or not, i have no idea.

Anyone got any paint for that mural, try and turn Zaha into Eze?

In truth, I’m not 100% convinced by this news. As others have mentioned, with Zaha being injured, he is probably going to fail a medical and the manager situation as of next week, it all seems a bit strange.
