Todays first download is a cracking set by The Ian Hunter/Mick Ronson Band which was recorded at My Fathers Place, Old Roslyn, New York in 1979. This is in superb quality and is a fantastic bootleg. I've posted a few boots by these guys before - this is another cracking set. Mick Ronson and Ian Hunter were ideally suited to the style of glam rock they played - both had been with big bands before they joined forces - Hunter with Mott The Hoople, Ronson was the driving force behind David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars. Together they were unbeatable... and although Mick is no longer with us, Ian is still performing to this day at the ripe old age of 71. This is thoroughly recommended - and then some!...... Todays second download is an unreleased album by Don Van Vliet A.K.A. Captain Beefheart. This album was recorded in early 1976 but never released. The album notes say : "This album was recorded in early 1976 but never released. This particular dub was made from an ANA(1) copy given to a record company employee by Beefheart himself. This same tape has been bootlegged on CDR with excessive noise reduction, but this fresh new transfer is completely free of NR. Don't be fooled by the European bootleg "Dust Sucker" which comes from a very poor quality tape, and not the "Captain's original tapes" as the liner notes claim. This copy is the real deal!" Todays first download is a set by Rod Stewart which was recorded in Dublin, Ireland in 1991 during the Vagabond Heart Tour of 1991. This is in superb quality and the audio has been taken from an FM Broadcast . He belts out some classic tracks - kicking off with Maggie May, Some Guys, Do Ya Think I'm Sexy..... and he is joined onstage for the final track by Chris De Burgh. As a lot of the shows were outdoors, Rod was suffering from the high pollen count and his voice is a bit creaky - he had to cancel some of the shows on the tour as a result. This is still a great show though - one for all Rod fans..... Todays second download is the first bootleg by this band that I've posted. They band is called Hot Chip and this is a gig they did recently at Alexandra Palace in London. This is in superb quality and the audio has been taken from a usb stick that was available immediately after the gig. If you like Hot Chip - then this is thoroughly recommended.... Todays extra download is an acoustic set by Coldplay which was recorded in Flannigan's Bar in New York on the 26th November 2001. This is in superb quality and the audio has been taken from an FM Broadcast. Only 5 tracks but a really good set... if you like Coldplay, you will want this one....
