Todays first download is a really rare one - this is Neil Young & The Ducks and a double live bootleg that was recorded in Santa Cruz, CA in the summer of 1977 - the exact date and venue isn't listed. This band only ever played about 20 shows live and they never released anything official in any form. The Ducks are actually members of Moby Grape - another California based band. The quality of this boot is superb considering it's age and it sounds fantastic. If you like Neil Young - then grab this one - this is unbelievable.... and thoroughly recommended.... Todays extra download is a set by legendary Irish rockers Thin Lizzy that was recorded by the BBC at the Reading Festival in 1983. This is in superb quality and the audio taken from an FM broadcast of the show and it sounds top notch. I've posted stacks of TL albums and boots over the years and I was surprised that this didnt show up in my files... so if you like Thin Lizzy then I thoroughly recommend this one..... Todays first download is a set by Bloc Party that was recorded at the Southside Festival in Germany on the 23rd June 2013. This is in superb quality and the audio has been taken from the soundboard and sounds top notch. I've posted a few boots by Bloc Party over the years - they always put on a good show and this is no exception. For this show, Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong was absent and was replaced by Sarah Jones of New Young Pony Club. If you like BP - then grab this one... this is thoroughly recommended...... Todays extra download is a set by The Byrds that was recorded in Oberlin, Ohio on the 27th November 1970. This is in superb quality for a boot thats over 40 years old with the audio being taken from the soundboard and it sounds top notch. A top set with the classic Mr Tambourine Man played along with a wicked 15 minute jam featuring the tracks "Jesus Is Just Alright" and into "8 Miles High". If you like The Byrds - then grab this show... this is thoroughly recommended.... This is in superb quality and the audio has been taken from the soundboard and sounds top notch. I've posted quite a few boots by EB over the years and this is another crackin' show for the collection. A wicked setlist which includes the hits "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" "San Franciscan Nights" and the legendary "House Of The Rising Sun"... this is thoroughly recommended..... and then some.... This is in superb quality for a bootleg thats 40+ years old with the audio being taken from the soundboard - it sounds top notch. I've not posted much Mahavishnu stuff over the years - their type of rock/jazz fusion isn't everyone's cup of tea.. but there's no doubting the quality of the musicians on this boot.. John McLoughlin on Guitar, Billy Cobham on Drums, Jan Hammer on Keys.. with Jerry Goodman on Violin and Rick Laird on Bass... this is a top set. If you like Mahavishnu Orchestra then this is one for the collection - and I may post another couple in the coming few weeks....
