Todays second download isnt a bootleg but it is a live album. This is Roger Chapman and the Shortlist and a set recorded for the Rockpalast TV Show at the Grugenhalle, Essen, Germany in 1981 - the exact date isn't listed. Roger Chapman made his name with the band Family and was voted vocalist of the year in 1980 for his album "Hyenas Only Laugh For Fun". I've not posted any albums by Roger and the Shortlist before - only Roger from his days with Family. If you like Roger Chapman and his disctinctive voice then grab this show - this is the mutts and is thoroughly recommended.. Todays extra download is a set by St. Vincent that was recorded at the Pitchfork Festival, Paris, France on the 31st October 2014. This is in superb quality and the audio for the set has been taken from the soundboard and it sounds top notch. I've posted a few shows this year by this band - they appear to have played all the festivals and if you've downloaded any of the previous shows then grab this one as well.. this is great stuff and is thoroughly recommended.. Todays first download is a show in aid of the Bridge School Benefit, Oakland, CA. on the 4th December 1988. This is in superb quality and the audio for the show has been taken from the soundboard and it sounds top notch. There are a host of starts giving their time for this cause including Neil Young, Nils Lofgren, Billy Idol, Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. This is great stuff with some classic tracks being performed by the artists. I have previously posted the first Bridge School Benefit Show - if you downloaded that then give this one a try... this is thoroughly recommended... Todays second download is a bootleg by the Small Faces that consists of tracks taken from tv and radio broadcasts from the 1960's. Considering the age of some of these recordings the quality is fantastic - especially for the 1968 Colour Me Pop broadcast which features the Small Faces classic Happiness Stan - with Stanley Unwin!. Some great stuff on this one with tracks from Radio Caroline, BBC Top Gear, Top Of The Pops, Morecambe & Wise and German TV. This is wicked and if you like the Small Faces you will want this one... Todays extra download is a set by The Mission that was recorded in Hollywood, CA on the 11th May 1990. This is in superb quality and the audio for the set has been taken from the soundboard and it sounds top notch. I've posted a few shows by The Mission over the years - including one from this tour - but from europe some 5 months earlier. This is a cracking set which includes a cover of The Cure's "In Between Days". If you like The Mission - this is thoroughly recommended... Todays first download isn't a bootleg but it is a live album - this is Argent. Live BBC Radio 1 In Concert. A show which was recorded at the Paris Theatre, London. This is a wicked live album with some classic Argent tracks like "Hold Your Head Up" and "God Gave Rock and Roll To You". Some great guitar work by Russ Ballard as well as the classic keyboards of Rod Argent. I was surprised that I hadn't posted this before - this is great stuff.... Todays extra download is a set by Motown legend Smokey Robinson that was recorded at the Northern Lights Theater, Potawatomi Casino, Milwaukee on the 12th August 2011. This is in excellent quality - and it's an audience recorded show - but a very, very good one. Smokey Robinson bootlegs are very rare - I only have one other myself - which I posted a while back. Some real classics on this one including "Going To A Go Go"... "You've Really Got A Hold On Me" and "Tears Of A Clown" as well as "The Tracks Of My Tears"...
