nice to get a positive post from a supporter of another team, thank you. I hope we do get your manager, he sounds an absolute gem but meanwhile good luck this weekend and hope you get a good result

I think if we do get this guy and he shows half as much affection for Palace as he is clearly showing for Bournemouth right now we'll have a truly loyal and committed manager as well as a clearly very talanted one.
The more I see of Howe the more I'd be delighted to get him.

I dont know if I want Coppell, Hughton over Howe. How much compensation do you think will be paid to them if the deal goes through?

Bournemouth fan here, again in peace.

To me, this looks like a done deal. I doubt the 'interview' will be on a Friday, for obvious reasons, so Palace and Howe have probably met already, probably in a hotel somewhere off the M3.
Howe does not want to announce he's moving, so soon before a home game on Saturday hence the evasive answers in the media interviews...

Does it cheese me off that you look like getting him? Of course, he really is brilliant, but that is football and always has been.
Bigger clubs attract players/managers from smaller clubs. Bournemouth do it to others. Pugh our winger came from Hereford and lots from non-league.
Maybe in a couple of years, a bigger club will nab him from you?

One last thing, he will probably want to take his assistant, Jason Tindall with him. Ex-Charlton...

lets hope yves that if howe comes to palace we will be playing you in the championship and we can have a pint of guiness inna pub near selhurst or dean court.

I suspect that Bournemouthy would want about £500,000 but we would end up payin g around £250,000

If Lambert takes that job, I'll chew my arm off and throw it to rabid wolves.

Cheers, black eagle. The guinness may have to wait.
If you get Howe, you won't get relegated. In January 2009 when he started, Bournemouth were about nine points from safety after the 17 point deduction. He kept us up pretty comfortably. Keeping Palace up would be a doodle!
The pisser is, no Howe, no promotion for Bournemouth.

Agree on all points. Thanks for coming on here.

All I hope is that him leaving doesn't derail your season. Your fans have been through enough and I'd hate to think that us snaring Howe will push you back to the dark days of 2 or 3 years ago.

Agree with Matt on that and also respect to Yves for your philosophical attitude. I hope that IF (big if) Howe does come to us, your fans will continue to hold him in the same esteem you do now. He clearly has strong affection for AFCB and it would make a nice change for a manager to move on with his strong bond unbroken with his previous club.

I'd hope your promotion push would continue and we'd get to play each other in the Championship next year.

If it happens, I feel for you. I hope it's not the Bournemouth bubble bursting because it's been a brilliant story, and it would be brilliant for all concerned if Bournemouth and Palace could maintain an upward momentum from this (surely some decent compensation after all). Unfortunately, most fairy tales in football are generally spoiled by someone 'bigger' who struts along and takes what they please. It's happened to us enough times. I blame Darwin. Survival of the fittest and all that.
