Once again, you are engaging in personal digs, rather than sticking to the point of the topic, which is how much of a bitch Thatcher was to the nation.

Absolute balderdash.

In actual fact the debate is about 'Margaret Thatcher' where viewpoints FOR and AGAINST are order of the day.

In the final analysis, 'Margaret Thatcher' came to power with this country in ruins and transformed it into a force in the world.Britain seemed doomed to continual econmic decline - Britain really was in the 'Last chance saloon'.

Or...... She left large parts of the country that weren't in ruins, in ruins, and was then sacked by her own lot. The poll tax being one ruinous policy too far.

Typical left-wing canard
.
Margaret Thatcher stood up for 'Ordinary' Britons and this is one of the reasons the 'Left' loathe her. And the 'Left' still peddles the canard that Thatcher appealed only to the rich.

Thanks to Ray Sirotkin for this...

It's true that Thatcher united the nation.
Ok not Scotland
Well alright Wales rejected her Toryism, but England stood with her.
Well all right - not the north, in particualr Liverpool, but everyone else supported her.
What? The mining communities oh,yes there was Yorkshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire, South Wales, Leicestershire, Durham, Staffordshire - but apart from that?
What, not the Irish? Well, yes there was Bloody Sunday when 13 innocent Catholics were murdered in 1972, and the hunger strikes in 1981, but apart from that all of Britain was behind her...
What - she encouraged bigotry against gay people? Well, there was Section 28, but apart from that she was very unifying?
Well yes there was her racist speech about 'people being swamped by an alien culture', the inner city riots of 1981 and 1985, but she was a national figure after all and everyone loves her and she only carried out the war on Argentina because they were stupid enough to think the days of colonialism were over.
So for all the pro-imperialist, homophobic, racist, mysoginists in society - she was a unifying figure.

It is a total myth that Thatcher destroyed the coal industry.Even before she became Prime Minister it was already a shadow of it's former self.

The fact is that more pits were closed in the 60s than in the 80s yet who today blames the then Prime Minister Harold Wilson ?

The reason the left hate her so much, is she made them realise how utterly stupid the left had become, and basically forced them to get rid of their ridiculous unsustainable socialist crap, and adopt a more "left of centre" noooo labour, that people would vote for and in doing so, made the Labour Party cut their socialist ties.

I would also like to point out that I have called no one names, or insinuated that their viewpoint is dimwitted as it doesn't agree with their own warped sensitivities.

I was however on the receiving end of the above from two people who should now better, proof if any where needed that the left, don't like home truths, have a very lop sided view of the world (at best), and at worse are blinkered and embittered as their own party has only offered a war criminal and a succession of idiots in response to Maggie's tenure at number 10.

Well actually Thatcher expressed the view that people were afraid that they would be swamped by those of a different culture which is rather different from your statement.

Yep you are perfectly correct in every way. Thatcher said her biggest achievement was noo labour. You can keep them.
By the way, as I've said on numerous occasions, Labour are not a party of the left.
