Isn't Austin an Isle of wight lad? sure he is ,would'nt surprise me if he went to Bournemouth. He's from Dorset I think.

They are all intelligent, sensible, knowledgeable, erudite and interesting. I so much prefer the 'Old Widows Club' who moan like hell about literally everything and who never have me shouting 'f*** off" at my computer screen. Thanks Syd - I was getting to the point where the site was becoming far too tedious but your posts have gone a distance to restore my confidence in it.

We moved on pretty quickly after putting feelers out about him and getting a lukewarm response. Firstly with N'doye but his wage demands were too high. So we went and got Connor wickham instead. Reading back my post it looks like I am 'ITK'. I am not, I just guess the above happened.

Part of the problem is that Austin doesn't fancy coming to Palace, despite our interest. We moved on pretty quickly after putting feelers out about him and getting a lukewarm response. aside from a vague chelsea link we are the highest ranking team linked? i propose that it was quite the reverse, he was interested in us moreso than us in him - at that price.

At last someone talking sense, if you read between the lines of what Steve Parish said, it's simple really, he said of coarse Palace are interested in Charlie Austin, not a word about we would like him, and we're looking at him, or he's one we are looking at, infact his reaction was very subdued and positively negative on the subject.

West Ham have Andy Carroll, Villa have Adebayor and who would want to go to Newcastle. Palace have the bait in Dwight Gale or Glen and Palace need a top striker that will get goals.
