He's not coming to Palace, we've gone for 6 goal a season Whickham over 18 goal a season Austin. In Conners defence he was played out of position at Sunderland alot. He is younger than Austin also. I rate Wickham and think he could fill his boots with the service he will get from our wingers.

He's not coming to Palace, we've gone for 6 goal a season Whickham over 18 goal a season Austin. 18 goals a season implies he's done that regularly; he hasn't done that in the prem, and I'd be prepared to take a pretty big bet that he never will do it again. He certainly won't this season. Austin did what quite a lot of strikers do; one good season at the top level amidst a career of mediocrity. Wickham will get goals throughout his career (he's only 22 so plenty of time to get better), and maybe, just maybe, he'll get to a level where he consistently nets between 12 and 20 a season in the top division. Can't see Austin doing that.

Give me Cabaye over Austin all day long, not just for the goals he scores, but for what he brings to the team. Austin may score 18 goals in a season but he does not bring a lot else, Cabaye may score only 9 but he will also be the playmaker for up to half our goals.

We have Bamford who has no experience in the Premier league but looks good, Wickham who may well turn out OK but he is only 22 and not proven. I don’t think I would want to rely on ether to lead the line for Palace this season.

With the arrival of Wickham and Bamford with the quality of murray, i doubt we'll have a look in but in my opinion we should just pay the 13m because he has more than proven that he can score goals.
No I thought not, so why would Steve Parish & Co their £13m, if QPR deduce their valuation to a realistic £13 then maybe worth a punt, plus on a footballing perspective I'm not convinced he is better than the players we already have so why pay £13m for a player that may or may not even sit on the bench, Cabaye at only £11.4m is a much better purchase as is Wickham.
