This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 I have absolutely zero doubt that if we don't sign Austin, it will be because we don't want to. We are easily the most attractive of the destinations linked with him, he's expressed a preference for staying in London, and whether we want to pay it or not, we can afford the fee. If we want Austin, I am quite sure we will get him. I am not worried about this one because it's one of the few moves that I think has very little mystery about it; it's in our hands. With all that said, I am far from convinced we do want him.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 Who knows if we're actually in for Austin, but i'm sure there'll be a few ins and outs. The fact is we need to trim the squad and recoup some cash with at least 4-5 going (Bannan being one of them) and 1 coming in. We have to be prepared to see Muzza and Gayle go as if we get in excess of £10m for them it'd be too good to turn down. But with Campbell and Chamakh injured, Wickham and Bamford not even scoring yet this season we could be left in a bad position. I can only think that there maybe another loan signing until Xmas on the horizon in case we end up without Austin or other first choice striker.
