Jamie Reed, MP in a marginal constituency, has resigned his post and there will be a by-election in January. He's got a majority of about 2,000 and UKIP got 15% at the GE, will be a very hard fought race and big test for Corbyn. He'll fail it obvs. To be fair to Jamie Reed working at Sellafield is the only way a Labour MP is going to get into power.

You can't help but feel that he has finally lost it: It is historically wrong to claim that Henry VII ignored Parliament. Far from it. In his day he transferred power from the Church to Parliament.

You mean Henry VIII I guess. JC,s put down of the PM trying to use the royal prerogative is exactly what is happening. Don't see any of the media actually disagreeing with what he said. Henry VIII gave more powers to parliament? If you say so but they came with the warning 'Don't lose your head!!!!!!'

Can't think of any reason why he would have said that even if its true. I think he is unelectable too but not particularly because he is too left-wing the key to me is that the 48% remainers have no-one to vote for - they aren't going to vote for the man who let them down. There are other factors of course but brexit dominates unfortunately. Quite like JC he is good shape for his age too must be the allotment or cycling round Cuba.

It's interesting but the analysis doesn't really take into account that most of those elections happened under an effective two party system (or at best 3 party, with one having no chance of government). The election is different. Having said that the current polling is abysmal and I see no path to victory for the current Labour party. Whether that's down to Corbyn and his unelectability/policies or the constant undermining he receives from his party and the media - I suspect which you believe will be less agreed upon.

Where are labour going to get enough votes to win an election? Answer:- the 48% remainers. That would offer genuine choice and a chance of government so change and target those voters. Silly Billy as Denis Healey would have said. IMO it would be a brexit election if brexit tanks thats where the opposition have to be - opposing the tories. People may be dying for it to be dumped later on. Come on Jeremy you know you can't get enough votes...
