Am only hoping the reported wages are either totally untrue or feature a heavy chuck of performance related pay as if it really is £200k a week the club has quite frankly lost the plot.

Wouldn't touch this guy at all he is not suited for Palace.

Wrong atittude you can see he is not good for the dressing room and he is very lazy at times.

The other thing is he wants a lot of money.

In AP we trust....if he thinks he can do a job for us its good enough for me.

The only reason we will bring in adebayor is cause we don't want to spend 20 million on a striker thought with new investment we would spend at least that much but obviously we don't want to things haven't changed much have there

The new investment has been "Ring-Fenced" for the stadium development.

Not sure why speculation is continuing regarding Adebayor when Pardew dismissed the rumours ages ago - Alan is not interested in him.

Am correcting myself as according to new press quoted reports, Pardew is now back in considering Adebayor.

Alan Pardew is now claiming that he has experience of handling difficult players as he managed Hatem Ben Arfa at Newcastle and Adebayor is nowhere near as difficult.

Toon fans seem to disagree with Pardew's assessment of his own abilities and one went so far as to publish his own assessment in a Toon magazine that included the following extract:-

Talking about the possibility of signing a player who most clubs wouldn’t now touch with a bargepole, Pardew said ‘I have had difficult players before, none more difficult than Hatem Ben Arfa at Newcastle. If I can deal with him, I can deal with Adebayor for sure…’

Yes we all saw how Alan Pardew dealt with Hatem Ben Arfa at Newcastle United.

A talented player that Pardew bought at Newcastle for a decent fee and on big wages, he didn’t have a clue how to manage him.

Regularly dropping him, very publicly criticising him, often using him as a scapegoat to cover his own deficiencies, lambasting Newcastle’s most talented player for not defending better when he should have been encouraging him to use his talents in the best way possible…and playing the likes of Yoan Gouffran, Gabriel Obertan and Sammy Ameobi ahead of him.

Then forcing him out of the club, with Mike Ashley paying him off and the club receiving no fee.

Yes, Alan Pardew really showed us how he can handle a player like Hatem Ben Arfa…or Emmanuel Adebayor.

The only thing I'd say ME is, when it comes to Newcastle, you don't exactly get an unbiased view when it comes to Pardew.

True but it's an interesting alternative view

AP has matured as a manager since the Newcastle days you have mentioned and the experience of working/dealing with players like Ben Arter (may have got his last name slightly wrong)has put him in good stead for anything he may encounter at the Palace. Most clubs have difficult players who need different handling as Ferguson would testify to....Cantona is one that springs to mind.

That sounds more like wishful thinking than fact. If he has learnt anything from his experience with Ben Arfa at Newcastle it should have been that it's better to leave difficult players well alone

I have a feeling that it was Chris Hughton who brought Ben Arfa to Newcastle on 'Loan' but then Pardew signed him on a permanent deal for £2 Mill.
