All sides are doing it. Johnson will present himself as a martyr to the cause, as a hero who managed to get a deal but was stopped from doing it by a recalcitrant Parliament. How many Brexit Party sympathisers will now vote Tory is critical but unclear to someone like me Labour are in a huge mess and have no cohesive plan to get anywhere unless they dump Corbyn and regroup quickly. The LibDems will do well with those who want to remain. The SNP will sweep the floor in Scotland. There are obviously a range of outcomes dependent on events as yet unknown. A hung Parliament and a coalition looks the most likely one, but where the balance will be is a puzzle. It really is all to play for. Oh well, it's just as well that my back is more impervious than any duck! Now where can I sell all these insults. After Brexit we will all need to find new income streams. Where's Dell Boy when you need him. It's amazing though just how thin skinned some on the "other side" are to the mildest of sarcastic criticism. Hand it out in buckets but cannot take an egg cup back without getting on their high horse.

Right now I expect them to win an overall majority, with most Brexit Party votes draining back to them.

Let's keep it as it is. A minority government is limited in what harm it can do. I actually prefer no government at all, how about proroguing it for a year.

The polls are pointing to a decent Conservative majority but I take them with a 'Pinch of salt' at this juncture because there are so many variables at play.The polls at the last GE pointed to a comfortable Conservative majority and we all know what happened! As you asserted the Brexit Party votes might well drain back to the Conservatives but Farage might argue that Brexit has NOT been delivered after over 3 years and that the Johnson deal with the EU is really a BRINO and this could resonate with Brexiteers who might be considering switching back to the Conservatives. I'm certainly not counting any chickens - we live in uncertain times.

If Johnson calls for an election it is uncertain he will be granted one owing to the terms of the Fixed Term Parliament Act. If the EU grant a lengthy extension, Johnson will call for a GE but if they grant a very short extension as they are fedup with the continued impasse, the picure would be very different.If the EU does not grant an extension, which seems highly unlikely, Johnson will feel he has hit the jackpot.

And they say you don't have a sense of humour. Can I come and protest outside your house and complain that you are a danger to democracy and then refuse to vote for a GE? On a more serious note this Parliament is constipated aside from the rude jokes there are plenty of important issues not being dealt with. As you hint if this continues you do wonder what good Parliament actually does and will we miss them.

Seeing claims that Johnson and Corbyn are meeting to discuss how to progress Brexit. Not sure how that is going to work although it is obvious that many Labour MP's are bottling an election.

To my mind it is a total waste of time engaging with Corbyn in relation to progressing Brexit as he has no desire whatsover for wanting a Tory-led Brexit coming to pass.He doesn't want Johnson to be able to state "I have delivered Brexit".
