If every MP was truly professional, then none of them would have, or be allowed to have other outside business interests (in which I include Directorships of any form), they would work solely in and for Parliament. That, and only that would give them the impartiality to be recognised as 'professionals'.

I sort of agree but their pay is not massive
Between 70 -80k
It seems a lot but is less than some families with both working.
I would pay them 200k and say 100% only this job.
Then it would be undivided attention.

I'm getting a bit fed up with your constant stream of lies as this is the second time today that you have insisted that something is a direct result of Brexit when it clearly isn't

Quoted from the article: Company says Brexit would have been factor in closure of Glemsford site in Suffolk

you're in denial

Now is not the time to go all pc TBH.
And thats not to say i agree with him but seriously!

I just point out inconsistencies in holy than thou people's (not just "popularist's" posts, for example, when a poster is vehemently anti immigration but yet wants to "import" an Australian with Balkan parents for their own perceived benefit and absoluetely no English roots, well one needs to ask for clarification.

Of course, those holding Chairs of Committees and other Gov. posts also get additional pay on top of the basic for the additional responsibilities, but don't overlook all the allowances that they all get on top of that salary (or the massive pension pots they accrue); costs of running an office(including staff costs), all travel between London and their constituency, postage stationery and reply paid postage, the cost of a home in either London or their constituency, heavily subsidised restaurants and bars and then general other allowable expenses (not including duck houses ).
Makes for a pretty good income to my mind.

In other EU news.........

German Industrial Production fell 1.9% month over month and 4.6% year over year in November: the biggest drop since 2009.
Real-time GDP trackers show the largest EU economy is already in a recession.

But that isnt in there pocket.
The salary is still quite low for their status.
Increase it substantially and one job and one job alone.
I wouldnt do it for that salary even with the perks.
I couldnt take the drop

We need to distance ourselves from these losers as soon as possible.

No deal. No second referendum. No General election.

See, just like Corbyn I can tell you all the things I don't want. Easy innit?
