Doesn't really matter though does it? All leavers want is to leave, irrespective of whether it's a good deal or not. Leave in whichever form is a bad deal so let's just leave and take our medicine

I don’t want to leave but it’s going to happen.
It’s how that is important.
Remainers still need to be in the thought process.

It's rare to find a leaver that wants to leave but only if we get a good deal or if its in our best interests. It's all leave means leave and nothing else matters.

Yes, and accepting May's deal which is virtually remaining.

As long as it has 'leave' on the badge.

You stay where you are but look and feel great, while all the time it is a grotesque money-pit.

Divorce bill payments signed off by the tories this week, including if there is no deal.

What is that subject sure to have any leaver salivating.

Immigration.

Figures show 261,000 more non-EU citizens came to the UK than left in the year ending September 2018 - the highest since 2004.

Basically they are replacing the EU people leaving us, there is no benefit whatsoever in brexit over immigration.

Probably the influx have zero skills but are willing, whereas the EU leavers are frequently employed in sectors we badly need.

Taking back our own borders eh - we'll show 'em.

Please explain. Some of the non-EU arrivals will be family members of EU nationals. Others will have arrived under the Tier 2or 5 employment legislation. From these examples, the only arrivals who do not have to have secured employment are the family members of EU nationals.

Funny that, the biggest concern of the nationalist leavers was non EU immigration, but all their vote has done is increase it

True that

A better line of argument could be that - whilst they cross the threshold in terms of suitable skills - overall they are probably less well qualified than equivalent EU nationals who have now largely stopped applying for UK jobs. It was notable back in 2017 when hiring for healthcare jobs that we just couldn't get people from Poland and Romania interested any more. Fortunately we had great people coming from Trinidad and moved on to trying the Philippines. I am sure that these added to the figures published today

There is a harsh quota on Tier 2 (around 2,000 per month) and due to huge demand, there was a queue last year which allowed approvals for jobs over £50,000. (There is no minimum threshold but probably due to ranking for approval)

I guess 2 months ago Home Secretary hinted to do changes (to fill the gap after Brexit) but i haven`t followed after what happened. They were discussing to introduce 12 month visa which can not be extended or do some adjustments for Tier 2 to attract talents.

In case country needs more workforce, first stop will be to relax Tier 2 rules or quota. Or they may introduce new Visa Types which may boost non-EU immigrant numbers.

Like most of your thoughts on Brexit Steely......you aren't really looking at the long term.

I don't have any issue with pulling up the drawbridge so to speak, no particular affinity to immigration. You raise a good point though. The government will always skew things towards cheap labour and if they can't get it from Olek, they'll get it from Akmed.

Explain why Brexit is the reason for this?

So we cancelled the contract with the ferry pizza service after later finding out they had no ferries but now we have to pay euro tunnel £33m in an out of court settlement
