Looking forward to meeting up tonight with a host of my Tory Brexiteer chums, real "Spartans", over several 'Tinctures' before, during and in all likelihood after some culinary delights! Sobriety is certainly not on the agenda. No prizes for guessing the topic of conversation!

Moderators should rotate it is not a job for life.

Also moderators should not post their views with the threat of banning people like pussay patrol who should be welcome to their view.

He was a complete k*** who resorted to insulting those that disagreed with him.

No surprise there.

Anyway to brexit and it can hardly be worse:-

Cardiff University survey:-

Most Leave voters across all three countries think violence towards MPs is a ‘price worth paying’ for Brexit - 71% in England, 60% in Scotland and 70% in Wales.

Shows what sort of a place we are in.

Talk to us about the threats of violence by the far-left aimed at MPs who have spoken out about anti-semitism in the Labour Party

Far simpler to revoke article 50 and end the whole sorry episode.

As we can see today we will be forever at the EUs beck and call if we leave.

An endless trade negotiation dictated to us by the EU.

Continued rule from Brussels under EU law.

Cancelling costs nothing and preserves our highly undeserved status.

The UK had simply taken leave of its senses.

Haven't we been for the last 40 years?

Enjoy your evening with those tory chums W.

I claim the prize for guessing the subject of conversation!

Boris Johnson's government from 2019 has been defeated on ten divisions in the House of Commons. It lost its working majority on its first sitting day of Parliament and was defeated on its very first division. Johnson became the first Prime Minister this happened to since Lord Rosebery in 1894.

Quaff a few tinctures over that .......

I was refering to insults from me about you, when there are none..

It wasn't what I was referring to! I never accused you of insults only that they were there.

How exactly do you KNOW the reality, it hasnt happened yet and is looking likely that it will not happen....from my point of view I wish it was cancelled BUT leave won the vote so to cancel it would be the end of democracy in the UK..(if its not already destroyed)....I would prefer to remain for purely selfish reasons.....no one has yet answered what would happen IF leave won another referendum....referendum 3 referendum 4?? Maybe you can tell me, you know the future!!

Edited by the silurian (25 Oct 2019 5.59pm)

The reality I was referring to was the knowledge that people had acquired in the last 3 years. Not what lies ahead.

Democracy is not being destroyed. Referendums have no traditional place in our system of democracy and always depend on Parliament, firstly calling them and then interpreting what the result means they must do. The way Parliament is responding to this crisis is actually a triumph for our democracy. It is demonstrating, beyond any doubt, the supremacy of Parliament over the executive. I realise just how frustrating the successive delays are but there is a bigger principle at stake even than Brexit. Which is Parliamentary democracy itself.

If leave was the choice of the people in another referendum what would happen next would depend entirely on the terms on which Parliament decided to hold it. So no-body yet knows the answer.

You know as well as anyone, they would find a way to obstruct leaving as they have been for the last 3 years......more votes until they get what they want...REMAIN.....I would prefer remain as it would make my life easier but the democratic vote was LEAVE so we should LEAVE. (even if YOU dont like referendums) It was only called because the arrogant t***s in charge (Cameron and friends) were convinced remain would win......big mistake...then he ran away to hide.....leaving others to clear up his mess

I don't know that at all, and nor do you. After this experience I think the terms would be very carefully laid out and the subsequent steps unequivocally specified. I don't think anyone at all would accept anything less.

I really don't thought think it will happen. Nor do I want it to happen.

The Federal Reserve is daily
pumping BILLIONS into the US markets to keep them afloat. The system that imploded in 08/09 is once again needing help............on a grand scale!

Brexit is bloody irrelevant in the grand scheme.

Theresa wanted a 'red, white and blue' brexit, but now we're in roulette wheel brexit territory in that nobody knows what tomorrow holds. I'm sure I'm in agreement with many here though in that I want to see 'something' done and dusted and for us to move beyond this deadlock.
