I really don't thought think it will happen. Nor do I want it to happen.

And therein lies the rub.......this is the first time this has ever been done by any country. It would have been almost impossible to have 'laid things out' earlier on, as I don't think anyone really knew exactly how the process would unfold until it did. We've had three years of fumbling our way to a precedent.

I actually heard a junior minister from the justice department say she had no need to study the Johnson deal as she already knew the May deal.

And she is a QC !

Imagine if you were in deep s***e and she was handling your case.

This here is a perfect example of one of the reasons people want out of the EU and our divvy politicians just don't get it. We don't want to build on the green belt and concrete over everything, we don't want more and more people because this is excactly the consequences and we knew this over 10 years ago.

If you voted remain you will get more and more of this, is this what you wanted?
And funny how extinction rebelion arnt all over this. ?

Did you actually read the article?

It's not official policy to build anything on the green belt! It's just a suggestion by some NIBY resident groups which has no chance of getting anywhere.

What on earth has this to do with whether we leave or remain in the EU? The level of immigration is very unlikely to be affected by Brexit. It's just the source of the immigrants that will change, and not the number of immigrants.

I think you littrally live in your own bubble.
You know and I know alot of people voted leave because of the huge number of immigrants coming into this country.
You know and I know that puts pressure on housing.
You know and I know building on green belt is a result of needing more land to build because of population growth.

Yes you are right the source of immigration will change and that's another battle we will have and not relevant to this point brexit is here and now.

Please look to the future and outside your bubble.

Sorry to say that the only bubble here is the one you are blowing. My eyes are firmly on reality.

You know and I know alot of people voted leave because of the huge number of immigrants coming into this country.

Yes they did and it was a pretty daft reason to do so because the actual level of immigration has little or nothing to do with Brexit. Free movement within the EU allows people to travel around and seek work where-ever they want. They won't come unless there are jobs to do. If those jobs aren't filled then either we import people from elsewhere or our economy suffers. Illegal immigration won't be impacted at all.

You know and I know that puts pressure on housing.
You know and I know building on green belt is a result of needing more land to build because of population growth.

That pressure won't be reduced because of Brexit. It's a completely separate issue.

Yes you are right the source of immigration will change and that's another battle we will have and not relevant to this point brexit is here and now.

I am glad you recognise this as the truth. Can I now suggest you apply that thought to why Brexit won't make any real difference.

Please look to the future and outside your bubble.

As I said there is no bubble around me. I am merely trying to see things as they really are and not in some fairyland post Brexit economy in which all the immigrants have stopped arriving and all the Brits have well paid jobs.

I find everything you say wrong.
Flooding the market with cheap labour has decreased wages and inflated house prices.

You state EU free movement, your aware we voted leave because alot of people don't want it. And your aware wages have started going up since a slight drop in immigration so there is a link!!

"As more workers have been snapped up, firms have found it harder to fill their openings. While competition has pushed up salaries",
HAVE A LONG HARD LOOK

YOU would rather have mass immigration, low wages, high house prices which is now threatening our green belt, how liberal of you.

Tell this forum you are happy with building on green belt because your liberal wants are ruining this county. Open your eyes and stop being so stubborn.

Why am I not surprised?

It hasn't been flooded with cheap labour. Wages have continued to rise but economic cycles are a fact of life and we are still recovering from the last big downturn. It's always easy just to blame everything on a bogeyman. House price inflation is patchy across the UK. It has just been higher in London due to a combination of factors.

See my comments above.

I suggest you read all of your link and you have a long hard think. Whilst Brexit fear must have made many possible immigrants think twice before coming here, and for others to return to their home countries, this is a short term and unique phenomenon. We will need to have immigration. It's a fact of life for the UK. Reducing the pressure on London and relocating the work around the UK is a totally different challenge.

YOU would rather have mass immigration, low wages, high house prices which is now threatening our green belt, how liberal of you.

I don't wish to be rude but that's just garbage. It's all wrong.

Tell this forum you are happy with building on green belt because your liberal wants are ruining this county. Open your eyes and stop being so stubborn.

Of course I am not! And if you actually read and understood the article your referenced you will realise that only a bunch of NIMBYs are even thinking of building on the green belt. It's not my, or official, policy. It's about as likely as relocating Palace to Brighton.

Wisbeck you think it's madness, yet it's happening!
[Link]
It's happening because of your stupid love of open immigration. Shame on you for not looking out your little bubble.

You might want a concrete jungle for ever ending population growth cutting down trees and destroying green belt because you and your bunch of liberals are to stubborn to admit that your wrong but remember its your kids and grandkids country your destroying whilst being stubborn. FACT

You will get alot more respect from people if you say you agree with the sentiment of what is being said other than blanket disagreeing.

Birmingham isn't Croydon, which is where you were discussing. Of course some authorities may need to review previous policy decisions. For sure an increasing urban population demands increasing housing and that in turn might mean finding pockets of underutilised green spaces that can be used. That doesn't mean there is a major threat to our green spaces.

Why on earth do you think I, or anyone else, is in favour of "open immigration"? It's as nonsensical as the idea that I am in favour of a "concrete jungle" or "cutting down trees" or destroying the green belt. For the record I am not. It's because of my grand kids that I wanted us to remain as members of the EU. It's what they want too.

I note that you edited your post 3 times but still managed to make a series of spelling and grammatical mistakes, including getting my "name" wrong. A little careless don't you think?
