So Priti Patel reckons we can sack off unskilled migrant workers and the great depth of talent sitting in English front rooms watching daytime TV and lounging in pubs will take up the slack?

This ought to be good.

The left are so particular with their stereotypes of Europeans....yet so silent elsewhere.

So patriotic Maine....it brings tears to the eyes.

Haha, Stirley still banging on about the right and the left. Wont matter about right and left when the farming and manufacturing industries cannot get enough workers.

Patriotic? Hmmmm.

Idiotic more like - those who think the entire foreign unskilled labour force can be replaced by a bunch of work shy English scallywags mooching around Asda.

Once again you find yourself born in the wrong century old boy. If you had come along in the late 16th you would see nerry a foreigner on the mean streets of Wisbech, and wouldn't know a hijab from a haggis.

Sadly this is 2020, where unskilled migrant labour is what underpins the economies of America and England.

Have to applaud the sheer bravado and moronic stupidity of Patel and co with this pie in the sky idea that the slack can be taken up by local dropouts.

I wish you luck fellas.

Unskilled migrant labour? There must be something you can do.

Unskilled migrant Labour - something really worth defending. Let's bring people with no skills over, pay them in cash and let them live 10 to a room. Something we can all be proud of.

Would you rather do that or watch your economy tank?

Good call. I got away with it for forty years and still have no idea what I was supposed to be doing. Oh, well, it must have actually mattered even less than I thought it did.

Patel is a bit of a moron. Woefully underqualified to be home sec but as a former Weber Shandwick PR fluffer perfectly overqualified to be a politician.

This piece from John Grace is especially acerbic, even for the guardian. Made me chuckle quite a few times - some absolute zingers in there.

I had forgotten about the counter terrorism faux pas - like something out of the thick of it.

What she does have, though, is the effortless self-confidence of someone who doesn’t have a clue just how dim she is.’

said the rabid giraffe whilst brandishing his throbbing member of reason, and twas ever thus.

Did you know? 95% of people are morons.

That piece is a very good read. We all need to laugh at the current fiasco or we would have to cry. British black humour at it's best.

She’s another example of the Dunning-Krüger effect affecting a few of our politicians.
