Do we want one that genuinely looks after the interests of Joe public or one that is just more of the same austerity and siphoning of cash from have nots to tyhe haves? To look on the bright side, it's a real opportunity to exact change for the benefit of all UK citizens. Sadly, if we see the same old neoliberals taking the rudder, I can't see it happening. I guess it could also be asked how many of the 16m voted REMAIN out of fear for change and also being unable to think for themselves?

There would have been very few bids (people wanting to buy/go long at the top and the way down) for traders wanting to go short against them just after midnight. You cannot sell a price without anyone willing to buy (sorry to state the obvious but I bet some people think it's as easy as knowing it's doomed and hitting sell). You have to do it just before. It came down in a straight line. No resistance. There might be profit taking now from those who went short over the last few days. Also, there's 'sell the rumour, buy the fact.' As there's actually very little change to the country for quite a while, why keep selling and speculating a catastrophe when there isn't one? Over the next few weeks and then Summer when most go on their hols and volume is as thin as Trump's hair, expect all markets to blip and flip the moment Trusk, Juncker, Hollande or Merkel take a sh1t. Doesn't necessarily mean anything, just short-term noise and short-term trades of minutes or seconds. Not until economic data and deals have been hinted and made will it be meaningful. Surely this is the chance for the Labour Party to re-engage with their core audience. They need to find a middle way between the idealistic flip flop wearers and the Blairite Westminster villagers. I have a cousin working at Kirklees Council in West Yorkshire. So many there voted 'leave' (and a lot of them active Unison members) because they got no acknowledgement from the Labour Party membership about what concerns them and could only see Remain through the lens of Cameron and Osborne.

Is your cousin somehwere between the Champagne Socialists, the Metropolitan liberal elite, Blairites, Neoliberalism? Doesn't sound like it to me. This is where there problem is to me. Left or centre and they can't win without a message that inspires enough. Out of touch with the ordinary person, ordinary person doesn't appeal to the middle class anti-Tory. Well that's not exclusive to this referendum/election. Often people regret their vote immediately or shorty after. Sometimes due to manifesto details or not delivered or tactical voting gone wrong. Bringing this regret out now is pointless.
