I mean really?

You clearly have little respect for peoples opinion that differs from yours and a lot of age prejudice.

Do you want the world run by 16 year olds?

Deluded.com

Nope

I also don't want the country run by the retired. Yet it is their votes that tipped the balance. And indeed their opinions that appear loudest on this thread.

16-17 years olds should be able to vote - 'Old enough to f**k, old enough to vote'. But it would be a bit weird to make an issue of this now, rather than say before the general election, or the one before that.

Where were these 'legal challenges' then. Basically, its a political gambit based on exploitation of issues to achieve an undemocratic result.

Really, the only way a second referendum should be proposed is via a general election, or evidence of fraud or tampering significant to influence the result (such as postal ballot frauds, dead people voting, ballot box stuffing etc).

All animals f***.
Should we give chimps the vote while we are at it? It's only fair.

You make them sound like another species.
You don't think the old have gained a bit of wisdom over the years?

This is all about your inability to accept a democratic vote and the conceit that you know better.

There you go again, implying younger people are some kind of subhuman simean. With luck and considerable numbers of years they may evolve. Let's hope so, it will be they who decide which retirement home you go into.

Protests in London and York and over four million signed a petition.

But it's a good job you know better than they what is right for the young people of our country.

By the way, there really is no need to shout

4 million clicked on a website they were directed to and 40,000 London voters had a fabulous day out in the sunshine, faces painted, waving baguettes about and carrying placards with cringe messages of love for the EU that negatively affects the lives of millions of Brits.

So what? It's hardly a revolution and 17 million voted out with resources and officials heavily stacked in favour of remain.

In time you'll accept the decision.

Not really old enough to work or support a family though are they? Or pay a bill, or know which bills need paying, etc etc etc. Old enough to tell parents what they're doing wrong no doubt, before crumbling in the big wide world.

Old enough to ride a 50cc and f*** and smoke. Hardly a test to prove their responsibility.

Yet there is no upper age on voting. Old enough to ride a mobility scooter, moan and drink tea. Hardly a test to prove their current mental abilities.

The so what is that I was answering the question raised by Willo. Where is the protest? Well, it's quite gentile but it is there. Would you rather it was riots?

Lived through many govts, economic life cycles and see beyond the self interested and limp wristed excuses around today though I'd say.

It was a family day out for many. Lots of primary and junior kids there who didn't know why they were there, other than to have a day out. Pretty much like a royal family event. And the kids who were there are very people who will benefit the most, oh and the kids of the privileged whingers.

The limp wristed cannot riot properly. Just paint their faces, rant and insult on facebook and not face to face so there's no concerns about rioting. I'd be more concerned if parliament overrules the referendum and remainers and leavers clash in London.

Some of your 'ideas' about young people are utterly moronic.

I have recently heard headlines from the remain camp regurgitated by young people who are supposed to be 'the educated young' compared to the bigoted idiots who voted leave.

3 million will lose their jobs
Nobody will want to trade with us
The EU is not to blame for immigration
How does immigration affect housing?
Leaving the EU will make housing cheaper

If you really think enough of the 600,000 or so 16/17 year olds have enough knowledge or experience to analyse and make a decision that they haven't been brain washed into then fair enough.

Only 36% of the 18-25 voted and then act like keyboard warriors who'd run a mile or clam once confronted. The best thing they can do is pull together and make the best of everything when a likely compromise or middle ground is reached with the EU members.
