Ireland's largest trading partner is the USA and then the EU. Ireland should do a deal with the UK but small countries in the EU are not cared about so Ireland will side with the EU unfortunately and not the UK.

Lets be realistic, the PSNI does not control large parts of the border, namely South Armagh, what are 5 customs officers going to do there?

There will be smuggling but I don't think it will be big enough to jeopardise the Good Friday Agreement. It happens now. One more point

That's what I have been saying. Major importers and exporters will do their paperwork / taxes from their offices like we check in online for flights. There will be smuggling but I don't think it will be big enough to jeopardise the Good Friday Agreement. It happens now.

haha the Russians again now replacing Brussels in the UK's blame game.

I am surprised they don't get blamed for the northern and general rail fiasco but then Frankie Boyle has no complaints in his comfortable Russian train journeys.

It must be EU leaves on the line, or should we say 'leavers' on the line.

The Irish border issue is not one we can just brush under the carpet or wash our hands of. It's incumbent on Brexiters to come up with a workable solution or to accept one of the EU's.

There will be instability with Brexit until the economy stabilizes within ten years of it.

It won't collapse, which so many of the institutions we are meant to believe had predicted....even after the vote.

The EU however, that appears to be permanently on thin financial ice.

In fact I predict that eventually economies like the UK will be seen as a safe and predictable place for investment.....as we have traditionally been....and the EU as unstable.
