Croydon council have recommended to the planning committee that they grant planning permission.

Council officers (i.e. paid employees) have recommended approval, but the planning committee (elected councillors) need to vote in favour and the Mayor's approval is also required.

You calling our home a "turd" is for your account, however show me some good examples of clubs moving into new grounds where they have managed to keep or improve their atmosphere. Unless you don't care for atmosphere and it is about easy acces, large legroom, free sight lines (I'd love those I shall admit), big club shops, proper toilets and no residents to take into consideration unless they occupy a shopping mall.
Yes our opponent of this weekend have done well, but I don't count them as they basically did not have a home at all.
Ever been to new grounds at, just randomly mentioning,: Arsenal, City, Reading, MK Dons, Colchester or the like? Soulless occasions without exception. Be careful what you wish for and I am very glad we are not moving to a shiny new ground outside the M25.

Why polish a turd.

that money should be used towards building a new ground even if it means it sits there or put into other things to gain interest.

I don't see how anything else can really be done with other stands theirs no extra land for those and as has been shown transport is a big issue this cant really be fixed in the current location.

Fans make atmosphere not grounds.

I have been to many grounds all over the world not just football ones Selhurst is a s**t hole and transport to it is awful.

New design grounds may not appear to have great acoustics but everything else about them is far better and look at the new stand design it is the same design you are moaning about just a inferior type.

Really? Old Wembley rubbish. London stadium rubbish. Selhurst park noisy with 3 yes 3 train stations. True fans go to watch footy have a drink and then go. Not sit down to dinner!

I am somewhat agog when I have heard commentators etc say that 'Selhurst Park' is a difficult place to get to when as you mention it is serviced by THREE train stations. As for travel by car, the more modern ones come equipped with 'Sat Navs' and there are also devices/facilities such as 'Tom Toms', 'Google Maps' etc etc which can be used to guide drivers towards the ground.

It's true, our ground is outdated but anyone calling for a new stadium with zero heart or soul is quite frankly missing what football is about.

I love selhurst. I love that it is in a residential part of town. I love all the pubs around it. I love that the station 'crystal palace' is miles away from it. It's a terrific place.

Just ask West Ham if moving is all it's cut out to be.
