Are they going to be removed and replaced with a different lighting system? Of course the floodlights on the Main Stand roof will be removed. Edited by kenbarr (19 Jan 2018 6.43am)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave The floodlights at the Whitehorse end will certainly be going, not least because the column of the one in the Whitehorse / Main Stand corner would obscure the view of those at the far end of the new stand The new stand is so tall, they can mount lights on the roof of it instead of having pylons Everything is still in development, but if you want a fair idea of what it will kind of look like, have a look at the West Stand at Brighton's Amex Stadium, as our new stand is being designed by the same people (KSS Architects) and they are very similar

Hopefully a bit more "austerity" will get rid of these bell ends. Agree JE This stand has more design in its exterior than 99% of modern stands around the country. Although there is a move towards curved stands, logic being that you want to seat more people over the halfway line than the corner flags as these seats are worth more, which in turn creates an elliptical shape, across the country it seem standard fayre is either sheet metal or this new fangled cladding which exacerbated the Grenfell fire. We are proposing a mix of brick at the bottom and glass above, to replicate the brick terraces and glass building of the Crystal Palace. And they are still fussy over a club crest and some 21st century design!
