SP has still to kiss a few more frogs. What has always been interesting is any real link to any blue prints of what the current boards has ideas on
My idea would be , to prevent any loss of light to existing residents is to dig down , deep down.

Steve B has said that we should have some news from Steve P this summer.

Patience.

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

I suggest placing floodlights on the back of the new stand to ensure the residents are not deprived of light. If we add in a few UV bulbs as well they can have all year round sunbathing as well.

That was the San siro, which is owned by the Milan council.
Quite easy to have what ever you want in a ground , when the people that you need to get planning off is yourself.

Most if not all the stadiums in Spain and Italy are 'municipal' as in they're owned by the local government/council/region rather than the clubs. This is what has enabled them to pay such ludicrous wages for so long.

Like I said earlier in the thread, you would be very naive to think the only things that have stopped us expanding have been money and being in the Prem.
So many stumbling blocks with selhurst we will be lucky to get a new main stand.

About a year ago a mate of mine said he'd take a bet that our stadium wouldn't be done in 20 years, such are the differences in thinking between the Council and the club. Also said planning permission takes years and not the couple of weeks some seem to think it takes.
6 years ago Haringay Council gave Spurs planning permission to redevelop the site, they're still around 2 years from actually playing in a new stadium.

I said on Hol Radio 2 years ago that if we couldn't redevelop CPSC then we have to dig down at SP. The light issue is a massive problem, especially at the Sainsburys End.

I refuse to believe there are that many people out there that can't spell. Too f**king lazy, that's what I think.

Not a new idea and equally not a viable one. It'd be a logistic nightmare and way too expensive.

Time to move forward together.

"Digging down" is not an option at SP due to the level of the water table. It's why the base of the Holmesdale is flooded and why (as already discussed) an underground car park is not an option either.

I can't see why we would take that US money for redevelopment, if it wasn't viable. The board must have done their homework on at least the Main Stand options surely?

Perhaps we can raise the residents up?

Perhaps we could be the first football club in the UK with a moat and officially rename the stadium "Fortress Selhurst".

It could make things easier for the police if they could just raise up a drawbridge.

I am just going to put it out there that as far as I have been told, Croydon Council are 100% behind the redevelopment of Selhurst. If anything they are fearful of Palace moving the stadium out of the borough.

They see no real issues with expanding the capacity from a transportation point of view and are very much behind redeveloping the stadium.

I know this because I am related to someone who heads up one department of the planning committee.

I don't know if any plans have been submitted or have any inside knowledge of what plans could be, just that redeveloping Selhurst has been looked at for years and the councils stance is the above.

You see, this is the kind of blue sky thinking that has been missing on this thread. We could run boat trips around the stadium - another revenue stream.
