Eventually we will end up back in the championship...

Anything is possible, of course. But the new TV deal that kicks in next year goes a long way to stacking the deck against promoted teams. That's why it's important (to me) that Brighton do not come up this year.

If they do, they'll be on level ground with everyone else in the bottom half of the table. If they miss out, even if just for one more year, then when they do come up, there'll be 17 clubs with giant war chests of TV money waiting to slap them down again.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

An extraordinarily spineless point of view. You would rather not play them just in case they beat us in preference to having the opportunity to do them over.

It's actually not spineless, what an utterly pathetic and absurd thing to say, do you have a sense of proportion or what? I don't like them and wish them ill, get over it FFS.

Do you think Brighton fans rejoiced when we were promoted. I'm sure they all wished us a long and happy life in the premiership.

I'm sure they were hoping not only to be promoted but for us to be relegated.

Personally I'd love to see them miss out. Not only because of the rivalry, but because they seem to think as they have such a great set up they deserve to be in the premiership.

Exactly, this lot seem to wish the weed well! Jesus H Christ..
No doubt they'll be dancing in the street if they go up, WTF?
Living where I live (Horley near Gatwick), there is plenty of Brighton fans and they were spitting poison when we went up and stayed up. What the hell is all the bonhomie with this lot?
No point in trying to reason with them though, apparently you're 'spineless' for wishing the Seagulls ill.

I agree, very strange.

Well I don't. Do you think Man Utd fans are willing Liverpool to win the Europa cup?

I live on the south coast about 30 mins from Brighton.I don't see any evidence of Brighton supporters in my village - no shirts, tops etc etc.

In fact I was informed that on the evening of the Speroni testimonial there were loads of Palace supports waiting at my local station. And someone said to me the other day that a local pub is "All Palace".

..it also results in having a much better opportunity in thrashing the arse of every team in the Champ should the dreaded dread happen.

..I hope not, they hate and despise each other exactly the same, a true rivalry is war.

..I wish them ill, but the thing is we cannot stop them from gaining promotion, if the s*** happens we have to look forward to destroying them and making sure our players understand what they have to do in order to make sure they do destroy them, at the very least break some of their legs!! I'm not joking! if we turn up half asleep then we should break our players legs.....and I'm not joking!

Crikey, it's a bit tough down in Exeter then is it? Must be a tremendous market for crutches and Zimmer frames if everyone is running around breaking legs.

I absolutely agree with the point that I would rather Br*ghton don't come up. They have bought their way to where they are and I rather like the idea of them drowning in the salty water of their own tears and crippling debt. They will never be a match for us in terms of passion of support and are not much better as a rival than the Clowns. They may not be much of a rival but the are OUR rival.

My view exactly.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I too would rather they stay, but if they do make it and as long as our players turn up you will enjoy it as much as me....you cannot deny it.

Maybe, but generally it's the away games that excite me with derbies. And getting into and especially out of the Amex is just mental. And the b*stards lock you in. And it's all bloomin concrete. So thinking about it, no, quite happy not to get to play them.
