Basically after the Cantona kick at Selhurst there was ill feeling between the fans which spilled over and resulted in Paul Nixon being stabbed and killed at a later date by them.

No, run over by the bus that was being chased by the Mancs in a service station.

Boro fan here in peace and respect. I don’t know all the history between you and these reptiles but based on Saturday’s evidence you’re spot on. Clueless and cynical on the pitch, boorish in the tech area (did you notice Calderwood’s behaviour ?) and mega-whining afterwards. We’ve all lost big games (Boro more than most) but there’s a level of dignity about how you conduct yourself. Touch of the Newcastles about their nasty, delusional fans too. Now, for the first time ever, I’ve got a club to despise. Looking forward to our meetings next season and good luck in the CF.

OK, you are Bob Mortimer and I claim my £50 prize. Met you in our last game at Ayresome. Big Mal was there too and signed a bottle of wine for me.

Nail on head for me. Several weeks ago the Brighton fans in my office were chatting away about playing Spurs and Liverpool in the Premier League next season like it was a done deal. I actually thought they had a good chance so I bit my tongue. Even after the Boro game I heard one of them crowing about being a Premier League team next season like it would happen.

They were exactly the same when we p*ssed on their chips a few years back. A bit less so going into the Derby County playoff game a couple of years back.

Even putting the rivalry aside (which I admit I haven't entirely!) I don't think I have ever encountered any football fans that are so lacking in humility. I guess when you support a team like Palace you have a much better sense of reality and you learn to never count your chickens. That's why it seems even more incredible listening to Brighton fans sometimes!

Or just lacking....Exchange pub, Hove....

Haha, I had my stag do on Saturday and my mates bought me a Palace shirt printed up with "Stag 16" on the back. As we walked from the curry house to the pub at about 10, we walked past a house with Brighton shirts hanging in both windows. I intended to bang on the window until someone came out to have a look, whereby they'd find me with one nipple and a Palace badge pressed against their window. I didn't though. I ought to start drinking alcohol.

That would be after he'd emptied it, I expect ...

Welcome and all the best for next season, except when you play us of course. Great job consigning the Tarquins to the play-offs, where hopefully they'll do their usual choking act

Bexley Dave

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

This whole Brighton saga is making me schizo...on one day I want them to crash and burn (I was as nervous as any Boro fan on Saturday watching the game on the screen at Selhurst)on another I actually want them up and play them at this level and absolutely f*** them up home and away....tis vexing me verily

.....emptied it, shagged the chairman's daughter and sat in the bath with a fat cigar...the man had some style

It was a lot more 'fun' when we played them to be sure. The wilderness years just don't cut it.

I was with you at "Reptiles". Like the user name ;-)

Glad your lot are up - got a lot of respect for your chairman and the club as a whole.

Joining everyone else in saying welcome to HOL and good luck for next season. You have seen at first hand what those loathsome bunch of cnuts from the south coast are like. Was rooting for your lot on Saturday.
