so no putin has decided to rig the election for trump. a new, and frightening, method that anyone in the west should be concerned about. julian doesn't want to say where he got the information, of course.

only a matter of time until putin turns his eyes to theresa when she gets out of line.

Makes no sense though? Why would Putin rig the election in favour of a republican hard-liner?

Unless he judges him as an incompetent, which, well...

OK, wasn't aware of that. Can well see Trump being much more inward looking and leaving his eye off the ball all around the world. But what do I know, he seems like an unpredictable nutjob.

Better that he leaves his eye off the ball than puts his hand on the red button......

Because Trump seems to be the kind of president who'll be trying to do anything he wants, and that sets a nice international precedent for Putin et al to do the same.

Plus he seems to be hell bent on creating massive internal problems for the US, and policies that will increasingly reduce US influence abroad.

Hilary vs Trump - Could there be a less appealing choice to make. A lying cheating fraudster vs a lying racist idiot.

Do you fancy explaining what you're actually on about?

As far as I know Putin can't even vote in US elections, let alone rig them.

russia has a vested interest in a trump presidency.

- trump's campaign manager lobbied for pro-russian business leaders. the most notable: yanukovych.

- clinton would largely be an extension of the obama administration, which placed sanctions and travel bans on russian after the annexation of crimea.

- trump positions himself as an authoritarian. he has also several times expressed admiration for putin's "tough" leadership style.

- trump's nato comments were a clear signal to russia that the us would not support the independence of baltic states.

in my view the substance of the wikileaks material didn't reveal anything that will influence the election. but i am concerned about money funneling into the us election from russia in support of trump.

Apparently behind the hacks and provision of embarrassing emails to wikileaks (Russia, not Putin).

Oh I see... Basically just getting in the excuses early as to why Trump won, if he indeed does.

Not because he got more votes from Americans then?

It's like a pre-emptive reaction to when they voted for George W Bush.

it is absurd to think russia hacking the democratic party should be dismissed as a pre-emptive "excuse" for a trump win.

putin obviously thinks a trump presidency would weaken america.

russia funneled money to marine le pen. he will try to do the same for trump.

Or maybe it's because trump has openly supported strengthening relations with Russia and Putin?? While Clinton has increasingly alienated and punished Russia during her time as Secretary of State.... As history has shown, this is never a good idea.
Considering the volatile state the world is in, which policy seems more sensible right now??
