I was born in central London and then grew up in SE27 and SE21 hence my username here. Over the years I have moved further out first to Croydon and then into the Surrey and Kent countryside - I now live in a village in between Maidstone and Ashford. I've just come back from a holiday in The States and whenever I was asked where I came from I said "London"- it's one place they've heard of and makes life far more simple.
Where I now live the local BBC TV service is called "South East" covering Kent,Sussex and Surrey and so I have to put up with reports on The Weed plus Gillingham and Crawley but what gets me is that they also cover the clowns even though they are also covered in the BBC TV London programmes! I have e-mailed BBC SouthEast many times asking why they can't cover Palace since , if anything, we have more association with them because of the old Croydon,Surrey connection but they insist that as a London team Palace cannot be covered.
