Good luck to him - hopefully all of him will return to the UK.

The sentence talking about losses and gains can also be presented as "Our gain is their loss".

I can't stop smiling, brilliant news.Quite frankly he's a shocking referee so often involved in controversy because of his awful decisions on a football pitch. He loves the notoriety, but it beats me how some people rate him so highly.
Anyway obviously he going for the money being the mercenary that he is,so good riddance Mark,if you need a lift to the airport let me know, I want to make sure you get on that plane.

Fair play to ya, Jim.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

A gargantuan ego in the PL, a referee considered to be the very best in the world at making it all about him.

A massive payday for Mark and Saudi Arabia's loss is most certainly our gain. The PL refereeing fraternity and the PL will be all the richer for his absence.

Although I have said that this is my last post on this thread, I will likely post again.

There are plenty of other s***e refs working in the Premiership. I can think of about half a dozen. Clattenburg is just the worst of them and also the biggest pr@t among them, so he kind of empitomises the s***e Premiership referee and gets most of the stick. But the overall standard of refereeing is totally disgraceful and scandalous, and it isn't going to change just because he isn't there any more.

And although it's great that he's gone, it's a pity he's going to a lucrative sinecure instead of rotting in the deepest and dankest dungeon in the length and breadth of Merrie England, but then he's hardly the first person in football or anywhere else to make a klondyke on the back of monumental failure.

What I suspect is that the s*** is about to hit the fan for him in a big way somehow and all the skeletons in the cupboards are about to come out, and he knows it, so he needs to scuttle away quick. Otherwise he'd see out the season.

Believe this or believe this not but there used to be half decent refs.
George Courtney was one. Always tough but fair.
I remember us having banter with him away to Barnsley in the late 80's during his pre-match inspection.
We lost 1 nil.
The c***!

An exciting new venture for Mark and our loss is most certainly Saudi Arabia's gain.I of course wish Mark all the very very best as he embarks on another 'Chapter' of his illustrious career. The PL refereeing fraternity and the PL will be poorer for his absence.

To avoid this turning into yet another wearisome WILLO thread with vitriol and bile being scattered liberally, I would like to inform one and all that this is my last post on this thread.

Most ridiculous thing I've ever read. He's a referee not Sergio Aguero or Anfield. They will just replace him with some other useless idiot who, at least, is unlikely to be such a megalomaniac.

There won't be 100 great refereeing decisions videos knocking about in 10 years time with people going "oh it's such a shame that b*ll*nd Clattenburk left the PL in 2017, otherwise some of those decisions he made would have been on here". The whole point is you're not meant to really notice the ref yet he manages to get himself noticed every week.

Good riddance.

Good ...put a smile on my face...evil corrupt w***er as Cucking has already said going somewhere where corruption is common place,my only sorrow is that we didn't have him at selhurst to give him plenty for the cup final.
