Its been done every season since we've been in the clouds.
Sean dyche please.

I'm not in the 'Pards Out' camp as i've seen far far worse over many years but i do like this bloke.
If Pardew were to go then Sean would be my (realistic) choice.

I'm just loseing it with AP because he seems a bit of a C...
as for the results, being realistic at present we are still very news boys, so just a stay up job.
As for him, I'm disappointed.
No style.

Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

I like Sean Dyche but I'm not sure he's any better than Super Al.
And he's got a scary voice, it always reminds me of a Dalek.

But he's done well to get where he is and where he is really 'aint that bad a place to be tbf.
Bottom-half manager of a bottom-half team. Sounds about right.

Not bored, but feel very flat.

Simply haven't got over cup final disappointment.
Probably never will.
Still not properly over the 1990 defeat.

45 years old, unlikely to ever see Palace win a real trophy.

Sorry to be maudlin.

But I wonder if this is a more widespread sentiment.
For 38 years I have been a forever optimist riding the Palace roller coaster. May just have run low on adrenaline.

oh yeah, and 37% now belongs to yanks 4,000 miles away. The Parish legacy might be not at all what I had hoped.

Why oh why did he do that when we had so much TV money coming in? It's must be getting blown on wages and other overheads but we could have done that ourselves without their dosh.

When we were the 'team of the 80s' my brother got bored of us. He came back when we got s*** again. This isn't historically our natural level.

Fact is, just to consolidate this level is still a long way off. And if we did consolidate ...what then?

30k plus crowds a week. Never better than mid table.

It's easy to feel flat. The club needs new objectives and a clear strategic direction that we can all call success. Then set a new one.

… at the moment eh?! Is it me or do you feel a little flat about supporting Palace currently? Is this what happens when you maintain continued Premiership safety (!)? Is this really what we have been aspiring to all these years?!

Just a few thoughts that contribute to this morose feeling that surrounds me constantly at the moment:

1) We have the most expensively assembled squad in our history but still don’t know what formation to play!
2) Staring down the barrel of playing Man City and most of us resigned to getting absolutely nothing from the game!
3) The feeling of hopelessness, when some suggest we sack Pardew only to be ‘reminded’ that there are no viable alternatives!
4) No confidence in any of ‘international’ keepers!
5) Squabbling amongst ourselves constantly about where we should expect to be after a 4th season in the premiership!
6) Worried about the final fixtures in the business end of the season!
7) Looking back at recent performances and realising that 5 game run we had – where we didn’t lose – was nothing more than sticking a plaster on a gaping wound!

That’s a list of problems right there but let’s talk about solutions to them?! What do we do?! Is it enough just to have faith in ‘Super’ Alan Pardew or is the problem even bigger than him and his gargantuan ego?

Despondent from Beckenham!

The enjoyment went for me about 2/3 years ago when we became an established mid table Premier League team. We won't finish higher than 8th nor lower than 14th. The season will be over in Feb/Mar each year. If there's no end of season drama then where's the fun?

Now we're paying silly money for big name players so we can merely survive in mid table as also rans. No more youth players breaking into the first 11. I don't feel the same sense of pride supporting the current crop compaired with your Derry's, Lawrence's and Shipperley's. There was more passion in the terraces when we were the plucky underdogs, every game meant so much more than now. I used to be Palace mad but don't even talk about football anymore.

Premier League mid table obscurity is a miserable place. This is why it annoys me when people say we should rest players for the cup and focus on the league.

Probably haven't helped your despondent mood!

Fine post, and all pretty much on the money. However, in the interests of balance, we've got Wilfried Zaha in the form of his life, consistently being one of the most exciting players in the premiership. We've got Benteke, who is arguably our best CF since the days of Wright / Bright. Puncheon's playing at the top of his game, as is James MacArthur. Ok the less said about the defence the better, but there are positives out there too, let's not ignore them...

I've felt apathetic since we have been in the premiership to be honest. Signings and excitement in pre season. The 25 are picked and your tream are in the news as far as match reports are concerned, when the game is on. Then nothing until the next game. This reoccurs until the Jan transfer window. Then there's more news and speculation. Then it's back to the weekly match build up. Then the match analysis. And that''s about it. It's rather boring.
