The board need to look at comparable for a solution to our crisis.
Chelsea...Mourinho... last season.....fans loved him but he disconnected with the game. They were playing really badly. Then Mourinho blamed HIS players. Finally he was sacked. Now look at them. Pretty much the same squad......top of the league.
AP was our saviour. Then we overlooked our league performance camouflaged by our run to Wembley.
AP chose a load more players to strengthen HIS squad and yesterday he blamed HIS players....HIS CHOICE along with the clueless Neville boy.
Enough said. Just like Chelsea with their Messiah our board need to face up to this and act NOW.

this point about captaincy/ Jedi is spot on

I think we are all missing an important point: 'captaincy'. Jedinak captained with ferocity when the team looked disorganised or confused. Pardew's recent excuses about messages not getting out to players is the indicator that there's no-one managing the players on the pitch. Pardew let Jedinak go (rightly perhaps) but he simply was too stupid not to see the deficit in captaincy. He should have replaced Jedinak with a strong leader or kept him until such time as one was available. TP created a 5 man defensive unit with Jedinak plugging holes and being in charge. Pardew's hope that Dann could do Jedi's job was a MISTAKE. Pardew then went further and replaced Delaney with Tomkins. Delaney supported Jedi's captaincy at the back. Pardew has ruined a good defence and captaincy. The team is being captained from the bench. You cannot fault the players' committment when they fight back from 3-1 to get to 3-4. They simply lack any sense of unity of purpose when trying to defend. They are all looking around for instructions and motivation and there is no-one there fit to do it.

From what I understand there is very little respect for him at the club and when that happens players switch off. Just put yourself in their position, you have a manager who never accepts responsibility for the teams failings with yesterday as a classic example sighting that "there will be changes". Hopefully Alan there will be ....you!

The cracks between him and punch showed at the cup final and the fact Jedi left and went down a league tells me all isn't well. Why can't we have someone like klopp. He always believes in his players and the love is clear to see

Keith Millen is the answer he's the defences coach wtf is he doing in training . AP can only pick what he has available to him, although I do belong to the get him out brigade Millen needs to get to grips with them asap or i fear the drop is on the horizon.

The things that struck me yesterday that were partly players faults was Wickham getting in Bentekes way for the shot and us defending a counter and starting one of our own only for the 2 breaking players to bundle into each other and create another counter for them (I thought we had gone past that s***)

The ones that I will lay on Pards door though was the change of Jimmy Mac for Sako?

The corner we took short to waste time with Wilf and Sako when there was still time to play, obviously they should have known or at at least have been shouted too that there would still be hefty time added on and to just put the ball in the box and go for another goal which would have seen Swansea off IMO

They had a free kick outside the box (about 30yds) the 10yd man was Cabaye who when the kick was taken just stood there like a plank swerved his head a little to get out the way and let the ball drop in the box (think that might have resulted in there 5th I can't remember) surely you would have wanted someone bigger there.

Yes there was mistakes made by players that a manager can't influence but maybe he has if he has lost the players and this is the way they want to play for him, maybe because like others have referenced he got rid of leaders because of his ego, maybe he wants to be the voice on the pitch(you only have to look at citys 2nd for that), maybe SD shuts his mouth in protest who knows but one thing is for sure this can't and shouldn't continue, yes sacking managers every five minutes is fickle but so is keeping them when the signs are there and have been for a long time.

I don't like to concede defeat and especially to that fat geordie youtube c*** and his mates but I'm afraid mostly everything they said they despised about him and his style is ringing true and it seems to be that he has his feet firmly under the table like with Ashley.

The signs of poor defending have been evident this season since the first game against WBA. WBA, Spurs, Liverpool, Burnley, Citeh, now Swansea. Almost half our games. There has been no discernible change. Yesterdays embarrassment at the back was the lowest.

Agree, Pulis is making it look easy at the moment. Wonder how we'd be doing if we still had him.

Time for big Sam. Or at the very very least a new defensive coach.

Something has to change

Yes, this rings very true. Just because a man is a top-class defender and maybe the most experienced defender available, that does not make him the best candidate for captain. If he doesn't have the right personality and presence then he just doesn't. Dann's defensive prowess has also waned since this responsibility was placed on his shoulders. Pardewed.

I thought exactly the same at the time, there was about 6 minutes left and we had been causing havoc from corners...totally inexcusable.

They are highly paid professionals with a mountain of experience to call on. Yes we miss a presence like Jedi, but it is no real excuse. If they honestly don't know how to waste time, fake injury and generally disrupt the flow of the game at their combined ages then there really is no hope for us.
New manager is a new start and only way I see it changing, but my undying support will be put on hold until this sorry bunch prove themselves worthy again. They seriously sicken me right now.

Plain and simple. Hardly like any of them.are new to the footballing world or the premier league. 20th highest wage bill in Europe. They should know what they are doing ffs

..very very true, they hardly need a manager to point to their stupid mistakes.

1, Awarded by ref.
2, Cabaye, in the perfect position but perfectly f***ed.
3, Headed clearance deflected back towards goal, just bad luck.
4, Good save, unlucky where the rebound goes and the shot which would have missed had not that sub intervened.
5, very very lucky with the set up for the winner, the ball hits the Swansea players standing leg and bounces perfectly for them.

Our third was very fortunate, but all goals were rubbish defending apart from Zaha's first.
