I know he use to play for Millwall, and I know with the Past England experience us taking him would just look 'desperate' , which we are really

But excluding this what is the problem? I personally think he should get the job, and now. Sam likes playing crosses and at times long balls. Our team is set for that sort of play, and he has proved he can make a team better at defending, and when we have the quality up front we will still score goals anyway. He has a great record of keeping teams up and that is what we need right now. He has proven he can make good transfers on prices that are quite low for football these days.

I think people need to put the benefit of the team first and not whether they like him or not, as I personally believe Sam will (if signed) give us a stepping stone to progress further on in the future

Just like everyone on here calling for Pardews head for the last year you mean? Good luck with that.

Still crying? Maybe you need your nappy changed.

Chris Armstrong played for Millwall, so f'ing what?

Maybe proves Sam has a bit of fight and isn't a spineless dribble if urine.

Nothing at matches caused super duper al to repeat his f*** ups week in, week out. I suppose you're another who'd back him all the way to league 1.

I don't understand the criticism of him.

His teams are fit, well organised and his brand of football isn't boring hoofball as his reputation (unfairly) suggests.

I'll think he'll surprise a few people.

I was neither Pardew in or out to be honest, but think a change can't hurt. I don't think any manager could mitigate the momentum entail amount of individual defensive errors we've seen recently. But there we are, players win you games, managers lose you games.

Any experienced manager that's not Pardew will have no problem keeping us up IMO. We need to be looking beyond this season, don't get me wrong, Sam COULD be the one to take us to the next level like he did with Bolton but his experiences in the last 10 years haven't produced the same results. I still think top 10 should be the target this season.

His record isn't as good as people seem to think

You think Pards pressers were bad, his are another level

As I have mentioned before there is a distinct whiff of dodginess about him that wont go away. Remember him telling everyone he was going to sue Panorama?

All that said, if he is appointed I will back him, I can't see me chanting his name anytime soon though

the dignified don't even enter in the game

He will do a good job, if appointed. He has Premier experience, studies the game, was ahead of his time regarding fitness levels etc before everyone started doing it.
I would expect he knows how to build a team, more than Pardew did.
All the bulls*** with England, doesn't matter a jot, he was set up.

I didn't know that he played for Millwall, that's just another reason to dislike him.

He comes across as very dodgy and untrustworthy. A poor mans Tony Pulis.
He was crap at Newcastle and not much better at Blackburn
He did well at West Ham but their own fans hated the style of football if not the results.
He wasn't doing that well at Sunderland but had a fantastic record for England.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
