Hope Robbie Brady already has said bye-bye to his Norwich-mates heading for South London! Fryers vs Sanchez & Ozil - don't like that scenario one bit. If we can keep the score down to 0-2 we can look forward to Swansea and 2017 with a positive frame of mind...

Are you aware how s*** a lb robbie Brady is. He's a winger. Norwich are in worse form than us and he's in the side. I'd have him as a winger or no10 but never at lb

I hope that Sam is looking at the Swansea game as a must win so against Arsenal he will be playing more of the reserves and adopting a defensive set up.
I'd keep McCarthur and Ledley back to Tuesday if fully fit. I'd also rest Punch, Townsend and Benteke to keep them fit for Swansea.

And supposing we do throw the Arsenal game, as you suggest, and go on to loose against Swansea? Must win doesn't mean will win and neither does a tough away game mean will necessarily lose.

How is this parking the bus, you've gone 2 up top and an attacking midfielder at lb.

Two banks of four keeping it compact. We Know Benteke will close keepers down but doesn't really chase along the line, that's what Campbell does quite well. Even "parking the bus" you would expect attacking opportunies, but as soon as we lose possession we drop into the two rows of four. It's not pretty but if the players are disciplined it is effective

the dignified don't even enter in the game

Who mentioned "throwing the game" ?
I'm saying don't risk Mac and Ledley if they are recovering from injuries and I'm also saying save the other 3 so as they don't get injured for the Swansea game. I think Campbell as lone striker will give the Arsenal defence a lot more to do than Benteke. I also think that Lee will be more help defensively than Townsend and I think Mutch can do a holding job to let Punch rest up for Swansea.
I'd never advocate throwing a game but you have to use common sense at times like this when you have a busy schedule and a small squad available. You have to target the games you can win and Arsenal away is not one of those.
Bring them all back if possible for Swansea
and get a good win. After that we have the cup where we can get the injury worries sorted out again by playing some of the reserves. You can't just go gun ho for every game and I think that's what Sam will appreciate.

Some incredible line-ups on here.

Puncheon at left-back! Flamini at centre-half!

Thank-God you people are not picking the team for real.

And you expect us to take your other points seriously on this forum?

Not happy with Kelly at CB or Fryers at LB but we have no better choices. We're paying the price for not having enough defenders in the squad.

We have Dammo suspended(5 cautions) Wilf, Benteke & Jimmy Mac are all on 4 cautions(which expire on the 1st), which explains why Jimmy Mac didnt feature in our last match

Kelly put in an exquisite show at cb vs Liverpool when we beat them in Gerrard last game for them at anfield. Best position for him imo

What I would do:

Hennessey

Ward
Dann
Kelly
Fryers

Ledley
Cabaye

Punch
Wilf
Townsend

Campbell

I know, Campbell sounds a bit crazy, but hear me out. What you need for Arsenal is someone who constantly harasses their back lines. Chamackh did it perfectly a few years ago (until he picked up a second yellow). Drives them crazy. Also Benteke is on 4 yellows, and can't afford to lose him for Swansea. If it's close late on, then either take off Campbell for Benteke, or take off Punch / Cabaye for him.

Ledley for Flamini was just so Flamini doesn't have to play a full game before Swansea. Could always do the opposite and switch them half way through.
