I think Pardew was given more than enough time to turn things round and couldn't.

Allardyce is the best appointment we could have made in the circumstances and we'll see where we are at the end of May, not middle of January.

It's our total reliance on the same three or four defenders without making allowance for injury or loss of form that has cost us this season and that's what he's trying to rectify.

Pardew gone, get used to it, his legacy over 12 months was that he left us as the worst performing team 92/92 in the football league, we have a new manager who has a proven record of success in terms of saving teams in this division. He has just arrived and is faced with a poor team built by AP, he can't change a years bad work in one month, he needs to get rid of some of AP rubbish and then try and persuade half decent players who can play in this league that it is worth coming here which will not be easy given our current position. Sam is not a crook and never has been, he was fooled by a slime ball journalist who only went after him because he was England's Manger and anyone else would not have been news worthy, he was naive and stupid but that the worst anyone could say. Give the man a chance and support him in his endeavours, one silly mistake does not make anyone a bad person, least of all for the rest of their life.

Charlton and Curbishley were completely different. They got rid of him to try and break into the top 8/6. They didn't go a whole year only winning six games. They pulled a move similar to what Stoke did with Pullis but it backfired.

I know. Just using a bit of artistic licence

Curbishley actually wanted to leave and wasn't sacked. History has been revised somewhat.

Pards was due one of his good runs though around now if he had stayed

If you look at the post match interview with BFS he said he had got to Sunderland in November but only got to Palace late December sounds like the start of excuses to me. Also when asked about going back into transfer market he said "however much the club can afford" which suggests to me he has no real idea of who to buy and how much. This ain't gonna work!

Pardew didnt take us into the relegation zone once. We gave him the chop whilst 5 positions above the relegation places. Now you want to let Allardyce take us down and by then he's 'had enough time' I disagree. Hull have got it spot on.

Some people have a blind spot when it comes to Pardew. How you can justify 2016's form is laughable.

I heard someone say that if there had been a manager other than Pardew he would have been sacked a long time before 'Super Al' finally departed.

Maybe but I think in truth it was more down to the undeserved 'improved contract' Pardew was given in the summer.

Nope, he clearly wasn't the answer either. He had plenty of chance and time, to arrest a massive slump in form, and he wasn't even expected to reproduce the form of 2015-16.

Mediocre and average would have been acceptable. Only the inane expected Europe, the rest could live with 15th

But we certainly had a bit more spirit and were less outplayed by teams than we are now under him.

If Sam is not the answer and only gets 2 points from say next 5 or 6 games yet we are still not certs for relegation do we go for it and appoint another manager?

I would say 'yes'.

Nothing to lose.

If we only get 2 points from our next 5 or 6 games we are going down, because the next two months are games we need to take points from.

After that we start having more 'big team games' and if we're not looking at some comfortable distance, we are going to be in need of the kind of manager who can squeeze a point or three from top teams.

Your spot on, why on earth SP allowed AP to continue after the dismal performance in the second half of last season is beyond me and frankly SP has to hold his hands up if we get relegated for allowing AP's ego to over rule his head with this belief that he was an experience top six PL manager. The money AP was allowed to spend on second rate players who were no good enough for this league is also laughable and the man in charge overall has to be accountable was well at the end of the day!
