Parish stated it would bring in £15m extra a season. So it will be paid off in 7 seasons.

Stadium improvements dont count toward FFP so it's the best way of investing in the club.

The overall value of the club as a business will be higher.

The extra capacity will allow flexibility in improving the over stands. Therefore, when it opens, the Whitehorse, Athur, or Holmesdale could be closed and rebuilt without the overall capacity dropping below what it is now.

Currently we are about 15th in terms of capacity and doing very badly in respect to non matchday revenue. This will take us to 8th in capacity and much better off in non matchday revenue.

Someone mentioned the shape. This has two advantages, arched structures are more economical than flat ones. There's more demand for seats in the centre of the stand than in the corners.

Yes, that is why you have the curve but if the footprint for a bigger flat stand was the problem then why not just build a taller curved stand?

We really needed to maximize the capacity on that side given the limits of The WHL end?

Yes lets trust SP with figures he has done very good with money so far hasn't he.

Why would people choose to go to this stadium for events? come on it's all BS to make his stamp on legacy.

His figures dont add up any way 15m per year for 7 seasons the thing will cost around 200m could even increase with way construction is which I expect it will this doesn't even take in too account the whole sainsburys and other land issues.

all smoke and mirrors

So given the choice, would you rather let Selhurst remain the dump that it is or have the new stand?

Rather it stay a dump and we keep the funds towards something else down the line.

even if this new stand was to be built the place would still be a dump it's like putting some extra bits on top of a turd then bit of glitter and polish.

but for Parish and % of fans it would be the greatest thing ever.

The Americans clearly didn't buy into it either which is why they now want out

I must admit...while Selhurst holds a place in all our hearts....a certain part of me thinks the whole stand project is just sticking some very expensive lipstick on a minger.

For me relocation to a much larger stadium has always been the answer.....but appartently that is very difficult....even though doing the difficult is what talented people are meant to be paid the big bucks for.

Oh hum.

Will it be renamed The Parish Stand?

Mingers need love too.

Thank god for people with strong stomachs and low standards.

I think the new stand followed by a relocation might be the way to go.
It just takes money and determination.
