It's improved towards the end but I don't think it will be a patch on Jone.

Only lame brains believe propaganda anyway.

Lots of lame brains around. Someone on the train right now is going on about how taking control of our borders will stop another Manchester bombing.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

They are just understandably angry and looking for answers. When their leaders won't provide any they will formulate their own.

The problem is here.

Hmm.

Half an hour before Theresa May spoke from outside 10 Downing Street, Faisal Islam of Sky News was recorded on camera speaking to another reporter about the week ahead in regards to the election.

During this conversation they agree that the dreadful attack plays into the tories hands.

The conversation agrees that Jeremy has been portrayed as a "terrorist Sympathiser" and how the media linking him to the IRA will help this rhetoric and the Tory spin given the media mentioning the last attack on Manchester being by the IRA.

They nearly sound hopeful that Theresa will not be political but 'Prime Ministerial'. Not the same cynicism that they spoke with about Corbyn, showing their bias to play along the Tory line.

This shows how the media do not believe Corbyn to be any of the above but will be happy to portray him as such and work with the tories for tory benefit.

You are right. I've been listening to Radio 5 most of the day - at times you would have thought they were discussing an attack on the Muslim community by wicked white racists rather than the other way round.

Well The Tories could halt Muslim immigration right now if they wanted to. I don;t see that as lame brained.
Clearly the problem we have exists within the Muslim population and any process of integration will never get anywhere near a conclusion if they keep arriving by their thousands. We are just signing up for decade upon decade of Muslims who live in relative isolation and are more likely to become radicalised as a result. If government is serious about keeping citizens safe then something has to change.

Conservatives backtrack on £60m for primary school breakfasts

Conservatives backtrack on £60m for primary school breakfasts

The Conservative Party has admitted that a key manifesto commitment to provide breakfasts for every primary school pupil in England could cost far more than the £60 million initially promised.

In a second embarrassing U-turn for the party following the debacle over its social care plans, the Conservatives now say the costs of providing breakfasts “will vary depending on how many pupils at any given school take up this offer”.

The party said in an official statement the night before its manifesto launch last week that the policy would cost £60 million, but is now refusing to confirm the figure, leaving the policy uncosted, and prompting questions about its affordability.

It comes after Schools Week analysis revealed the party’s original costings would mean giving schools the equivalent of less than 7p per pupil to pay for breakfasts.

Education Datalab analysis shows that if only half of pupils take up free breakfasts at a cost of 25p each, the likely cost of the policy would be more than £400 million.

The u-turn calls into question the party’s ability to deliver on its promise to pump extra general revenue funding into schools.

The Conservatives pledged last week to increase the school budget by £4 billion in real-terms over the next parliament.

But it said the extra £1 billion a year needed to do so would be found through savings, including taking £650 million from the scrapped free lunches for infants.

The additional money is supposed to provide protection for schools against rising costs and ensure no schools lose out as a result of the new national funding formula.

However, if the cost of breakfast clubs spirals, there is no guarantee schools won’t be forced to use some or all of the additional funding received under the Conservatives’ plans to fund them.

A Conservative spokesperson confirmed the party will “ensure that all primary schools can offer a free school breakfast to every child in every year of primary school”, adding that evidence shows this is “a cost-effective way to improve education and health results for pupils”.

“The costs will vary depending on how many pupils at any given school take up this offer,” the spokesperson added.

Nick I don't know why you complain about these types of people. You are just exactly the same but just from the left perspective.

You use propaganda, they use propaganda. You just complain because theirs is successful but if yours was you wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Activists from left or right....well let's just say....they rarely help.

The nasty supreme leader of the nasty party. Certainly looking pretty weak and wobbly right now.

The police Federation are hardly neutral are they?

What ever the rights and wrongs (I would like more police) I would suggest that cuts or not the army would have been deployed. You can't just rustle up armed officers from nowhere.

Calling the Tories the nasty party is a bit lame. There plenty of examples on the left and right of people who hold unpleasant views. This was done to death on either this or the Corbyn thread

I think banning an incoming religion would be a last resort. According to Sam Harris the problem is around 15 percent...While we know the problems with the mainstream religion most of its adherents just don't support murdering people.

I think we need to back Islamic reform here.....We have to make it clear that we will deport people and strip them of nationality far more easily.

We need to actually take action on the extremists here instead of just tracking them and then pointing fingers when the less obvious ones attack us.
