My argument stands, if he was in the middle of the goal he would have saved at least one of those kicks if not both. Kicking it over the wall is exactly what they are trying to do because they know keepers leave more room on that side. If anything, with the modern ball you may be better off without a wall so that you can see exactly where the player is trying to kick it. Let's put it this way, if you were given a penalty from 5 yards outside the box, how often do you think you would score and would it be more or less often than with a wall in place?

Bear with me on this one, but why does the wall always cover the near post, the shortest distance the ball has to travel, and the goalkeeper the far post, why not have the wall covering the far post, the longest distance, the goal keeper then can be more central, or nearer to the near post, he may even have a better view
