Are you serious? Both are slow and not that great. Maguire last Sunday was exposed for pace by Wardy, and he is not the quickest full back! Jenkinson cannot even make the Arsenal bench right now, and they are (by their standards) not that great either. Even we thrashed them 3-0 at home this season!

Jenkinson didnt want to play for us back then so he can do one. I'd only want players that want to play for us, let alone someone who'd have trouble getting on the bench in the local park.

Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother... Simon Jordan

In terms of letting players go you'd say :

Outs:

Ledley - Free (would like to keep as squad player)
Campbell - Free
Fryers - Free
Sako - £2m to Championship club
Lee - £1m to Championship club
Souare - Loan / Sell abroard (£1m)
Mandanda - £5m back to France
Mutch - £1m to Championship club
Kai Kai - £500k to Championship club
Flamini - Free
Cabaye - £10m back to France
J Williams - £500k to Championship club
J Benteke - Free

This give us a total of around £20M for future transfers plus whatever the owners put in.

Ins (rumoured and est. fees):

Defoe - Free
Delph - £10m
Jenkinson - £2m
Sakho - £20m
*Kone - £5m (Would assume he is second choice to Sakho)

Gives us a squad of:

Goalkeepers:
Wayne Hennessey
Jules

Defenders:
Ward
Tomkins
Dann
Delaney
PVA
Schlupp
Kelly
Sakho
Jenkinson
Kone*

Midfielders:
Jimmy Mac
Serbian
Zaha
Townsend
Punch
Delph

Strikers:
Benteke
Wickham
Defoe

Clearly a long summer to go but we need to be careful with the outgoings from the list above.

Defoe rumoured to be offered a mega bucks deal at Bournemouth.

Might help if you gave players names I assume Serbian is Milivojevic

It's not me making these decisions but Sam wanted him in January and in the right system Maguire has potential. I have no idea who we will go for although I would not be surprised to see Jenkinson and Kone myself. I'd be surprised if neither are on the radar, and the price for Jenkinson will be lower now given he can't get near the starting 11 for Arsenal. Also I thought Jenkinson did well for West Ham, so again it will be an interesting summer.

Like I said before, whoever comes in I will trust Sam's judgement as he has a good history in the transfer market.

Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Whilst I completely understand there are a lot of players that haven't been up to scratch I think it is very unrealistic that we can part with all of them.
Sam has said that whoever goes we have to replace with better.
Virtually all the second 11 and several in the first team have 'not been good enough' but realistically if we get in 6 new players of prem standard that will be a pretty brilliant Summer and to be honest I suspect we will recruit less than that.
Sam and Sammy will have to decide who might have the potential, work their magic during pre-season and try to raise the standard of those that have to stay for another year.
I suspect it will be the year after next, all being well, that we get to that team we all want that can comfortably achieve mid-table.
What we clearly cannot do is blow the budget on one star player and hope for a relatively injury free year.
