Don't hear the word 'prat' used much as an insult anymore

prat was replaced by tw*t sometime in the eightees, and now neither no longer rhymes with hot, rot, scot (or scone?) - northern influence at work. nobody calls me ducky any more but that's another story altogether. lummy lux mister

I honestly can't remember but wasn't it once on the site of the imperial war museum??

I believe you're right.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I seem to remember 'up yer bum' being popular at one point (after the Emily Lloyd film Wish You Were Here) and of course 'Loadsa Money' after Harry Enfield.

Yes indeed - the IWM building was the hospital before the hospital moved to its current location. Good spot.

We still say that at work. One of my colleagues says it all the time and because I banter with her a lot, I've picked it up. Usually in a context like:

"would you like a cup of tea?"
"no thanks"
"ok, up yer bum then"

At school (because we were good kids) it was "stick it up your jumper then". That one I definitely haven't heard in ages.
