What an inspiration this little lad is. Just hope his time left is as peaceful and painless as possible. (Credit to Defoe too).

Is it so wrong to think that the following person is not worthy of BBC Sports Personality of the Year...and for all of the right yet much more selfless yet reality-check reasons:

The little mite is one brave dude. The infectious smile even though he's suffering melts the heart. He had a goodbye party at the weekend, his girlfriend & his best mate, Defoe, went to give him goodbye cuddles.

I'm a cold hearted tw*t usually however this lad has pulled on my heartstrings. Top lad.

Y'see what a young, innocent life SHOULD bring us all to in terms of real life testing? They are our future and they didn't cause the ills and woes that we feel as society nowadays. Bradley is arguably a victim of money driven pharmaceutical companies baying for the biggest cheque re: life preserving cancer drug treatment.

Bradley is one of thousands of kids across the country with uncurable conditions.
Very sad indeed.

Watched Jermaine Defoe's interview on Sky when he broke down when talking about Bradley. Defoe is in touch with the family every day and whilst many footballers are given stick Defoe has to be saluted for the effort he has made with the family. Getting attached to a terminally ill child shows the mark of a man. Little lad is still fighting lets hope he is not in any pain.

There's no real reason why this kid has touched so many hearts, he just has. Everywhere he goes, the football community are right behind him and his family. We are all humans, and the suffering of an innocent is painful for all of us to watch, it just seems so unfair. Yes, I know there are many more kids like Bradley, and there are thousands of innocent kids suffering the world over for many reasons, but this one, for whatever reason (probably an ability to relate to him and his family as football fans) seems to connect directly.

Defoe also comes out of this very well - I had no particular feelings about him one way or the other before this, now he seems like a genuine, caring, man, and I admire him for that.

God bless Bradley and his family, and I hope his passing is painless and peaceful, and his family find the strength to go on from somewhere.

Brave little lad. I saw there's talk of naming Sunderland's East Stand The Bradley Lowery Stand. I hope they do it.
